  1. It is sad news indeed…I've been playing the game since the wonky first edition. But thankfully, there's been a host of material, I'm still exploring all the possible combinations with all of the expansions! I hope the community sticks around, I remember some great conversions and custom units…and I can't see why we wouldn't be able to keep it going with our own material. Here's to hoping that Tannhauser under FFG is just down, and not out for the count….
  2. Ahh ok thanks, that makes a lot of sense! In context, the damage can be abstracted to all the factors mentioned (ammo explosions, O2 depletion, cooking the crew…), and thus very deadly to vehicles. I guess I hard a hard time wrapping my head around it given how most flamethrowers only had seconds worth of fuel…but if doused correctly a vehicle can be scrapped and/or readily abandoned by its crew. In a way I kinda wished they would account for this type of damage than a straight high number value. Then again, they still need to fixer dozer blades vs. mine fields, but there's room to grow - game is still awesome nonetheless!
  3. (I've also posted this in the Warfare board because I feel its also a relevant question here on Tactics) Sorry guys if this has been covered before but I couldn't find anything close. Is it weird that most flamethrowers do like 4 damage across the board on armored targets per hit? Like an Armor 7 still takes 4 points of damage…7 supposedly the heaviest of armors (super heavy tanks, land fortresses, etc.). Not even Panzerschreks/Bazookas, AP Tank Buster rounds do that much damage (3/hit tops). I want to know the rationale behind this…..

  5. I hear you! The sculpts are beautiful...mold lines and gaps...not so much! O_o I will say, it gets better the more hands-on time you get with these things. Gap fill putty and green stuff will be your new best friends in due time! Btw, Cordelia from Wissenschaft has a horrendous mold gap in her dress, you've been forewarned!
  6. Hey guys, I've searched the board and I couldn't find an answer. So, in the rulebook it states that seeking out Hidden units is a 7+, modified by cover. The next line says that *seeking Prowlers* lower the difficulty by one. Now I'm sure it was meant that Prowlers who are seeking a Hidden unit lower the difficulty because they are stealth experts...? Of course, it would have made more sense to me that anyone trying to seek a Prowler should have the difficulty raised by one. I don't see how being an expert at hiding makes it easier to spot someone else who is hiding but oh well.... Thoughts anyone?
  7. Aw man...I had a build of a whole French Resistance faction on the old forums, complete with placeholder art and tokens. Let me see if I can dig those up. Nice to see this game getting some love again!
  8. Hey this goes out to all you modeller types and kit bashers. Does anyone know if the AirFix brand of army men are in the same scale as the Tannhauser figs...or close enough to do some converting and such? It would really help in creating the rank and file troops, especially with customs.
  9. Ahhh that's great to know! I mean I can understand a typo here and there, but mistranslations can be deadly to a game, especially to newcomers. Now...just when will get the book here?
  10. Hardcover rulebook coming...yay! However, I've heard from various sources that the book (ordered directly from Cipher Studios) is rife with typos and mistranslations. And we all know how mistranslations can bog down an otherwise great game (*cough* Tannhauser *cough*).... Can anyone confirm if it's going to get a nice English once over before being published by FFG?
  11. Hey any chance of posting a gallery once you get some figs painted? I always love to see paintjobs from the community...very inspiring!
  12. I got into by simply seeing some sample figs painted up at my FLGS. The whole vibe screamed "BlazBlue" meets tabletop skirmish game, so how could I not resist? Everyone else was drooling over Monsterpocalypse which just released at the time...which is all good and fine if you're into that sort of thing, but not my cup of tea. Picked up two starters, and after experiencing the beauty of the simple but effective Action system, I was in deep and never looked back.
  13. Hey now, you know how it works. They announce it for the end of the year...so we'll see it by the end of the following year (...maybe)!!! Lol, I kid I kid.

    Solo play ?

I was kinda hoping for that too, but it'd be might hard without devising some kind of "behavioral script". I was working on a scenario utilizing mostly enemy grunts with fixed patrol patterns and behaviors, but that's still in testing....
  15. Hey, some us are 40K refugees who still crave the addiction that is minis painting! =D
