Kasatka got a reaction from Rogue_Group1 in 1-Attack Die ships?
I think the 1 attack on the HWK was entirely reasonable - the HWK is an unarmed ship when in manufacturer's default configuration, the HWKs we would see being used by rebel and scum pilots would have at least a single laser or blaster canon (1 attack) but will generally prefer to fit a proper turret.

I'd be fine with more 1 attack ships, it keeps the points cost down on ships that then take secondary weapons. I'd also be more than okay with 0 attack ships that can only use secondary weapons to attack, although mechanically it would need to be rated as attack n/a, otherwise Expose and other such options could boost it to have an attack value.

Its amazeballs on a certain scum firedprsy pilot who likes bombs...
Emon + Andrasta + Bombardier + any 3 bombs of your choice + a mod of your choice, though Counter Measures works well for me. You end up with the option to drop bombs using the straight 1, straight 2, straight 3, left turn 3 and right turn 3 templates at which point your opponent struggles to evade your bombs.

You are correct, you must meet all conditions of your equipped turret when triggering the btl-a4 title.

Understandable and appreciated - expanding the Rebel offering and including missions and AI for more Imperials and suchlike would be great. Also perhaps the option to pilot Large ships in specific scenarios?

Also while I have your attention - what's the resolution in the following scenario -
We were playing the first mission in the Defector arc (? I think, unsure) with the Lambda shuttle that needs to be disabled, but it ended up disabling itself by crashing over an asteroid. We were unsure who would get the XP for it, so decided to give each player 1xp rather than the 3xp to the player who disabled it (it didn't even crash because of Ion tokens or blocking, so we literally couldn't decide a single person to count as disabling it).

They aren't huge ship rules, they are epic play rules, separate from standard play. To use warhammer 40k as a point of reference - Apocalypse is a separate game line that adds extra rules into the game allowing the use of massive tanks, aircraft, formations etc, but you can't use Apocalypse rules in standard games.
So the crippled huge ship rule is not a precedent and until ffg release FAQ/errata there is nothing to suggest you lose cards mid-game in the scenario of losing an icon slot.

Until the FAQ comes out all we can do is carry on playing and have fun - not think up new mechanics (removing upgrades mid-game due to losing slots is an entirely new mechanic outside of Epic-play, and as the rules are separate there is no precedent to do so). So for now the solution is to leave cards in play if a slot is lost and then adjust our gaming if/when it is FAQ'd.

Except it isn't a precedent as that is an Epic-play specific rule applying to Huge ships, and the Epic rules are separate from Standard-play.
Until FFQ release a FAQ on the matter there are no rules governing the loss of a slot in the middle of play so just carry on playing and having fun

    Dudes...

I always like to start with a little perspective when I'm about to be honest and vulnerable, so please forgive me if I'm rehashing a tired old theme with the following.

This forum is about toys.  Playthings.  Little plastic spaceships, inspired by complete fantasy.  The overwhelming majority of us are grown men that devote considerable amounts of time and money to a pursuit that, fundamentally, is not that different from our childhood diversions.

By definition, this makes us nerds, geeks, dorks, even losers to some.  I expect that a majority of us have, at some point in our lives, been the subject of ridicule for engaging in such a pastime.  I'll go a bit further and suggest that we have been hurt by that.  Made to doubt ourselves.  Made to be worry over any number of things, like that we wouldn't fit in, or be able to have the types of relationships that broader society tells us we should have.  Even if we're lucky enough to have minimized those types of influences in our lives now, I feel safe in assuming that many of us, maybe most of us, still carry certain scars from it.

Those scars can make us afraid, and we all know what fear leads to (why I invoked the Master in the title of this post).

And so often the "men" of our subculture let fear rule them.  We pick on one another, run each other down, do whatever we can to make these toys and this game less fun for others.  Why?  The answer is easy for a grown-up to see: to make ourselves feel better.  To be able to say that we're somehow superior to that lamer noob that doesn't get it.  Ultimately, to inflict the same pain on one another that's been inflicted on us.

This is not the Jedi way!

I imagine there are some of you trying to scoff at this, trying to tell yourself and anyone that will listen that you're somehow tougher, somehow immune to these injuries.  You think you're Vader, or Boba Fett - the baddest of the bad and ain't nobody can tell you nothin' about how to be.

But remember, it was watching their mommy and daddy die as boys that started them on their paths.  It was fear and anguish, that they concealed with rage and oppression.  I see basically the same thing on these forums when the trolls come out.  We pile our derision on one another in an attempt to pat ourselves on the back for being so much smarter, so much cooler, and so strong that we don't have to feel our own pain.  It hurts all of us, though, and it makes this awesome game and these sweet toys that we all loven less fun.  For all of us!  I'm asking you to have the courage to be honest with yourself.  To look in the mirror, and to put yourself in another's place.

So I'm asking all of us to just stop.  We're all in this together, and we all share a love for this hobby.  I watch football players knock an opponent senseless and then pick him up off the turf and slap his ass.  I watch MMA fighters beat each other senseless and then hug each other.  Why don't we build each other up like that more often?  Why don't we honor each other for engaging in a hobby that asks us to use our brains?  There's enough in the world to tear guys like us down without us doing it to each other.

I'm here to learn what I can, and to teach what I can.  I do my best to leave my ego out of it, because if for no other reason, we're here to talk about toys!  Let's help each other have more fun instead of trying to take the fun out of it.

    Please.

I think part of the problem is that people keep viewing ships in x wing miniatures game not for how they function within the game, but for how they differ from nostalgiac memories of old comics and games. Honestly until we can move past that and accept that things will differ when implemented in the game, we'll continue to have "Solution to fix ship-N " threads...

Or don't fudge with existing stuff and release a tie defender only cannon that does 3 attack at range 1 to 3, and inflicts 1 ion, but doesn't cancel dice. It could be costed at 3 or 4 points for balancing reasons

Kasatka got a reaction from Odanan in The Gozanti looks awesome but I'm not sure I see the point of a carrier
Maybe people are looking for rules based reasons the Gozanti can carry tie fighters when there isn't one, and the ship carries for them for the narrative reason that tie fighters don't have their own hyperdrive and that FFG simply needed another Epic ship for Imperials and Disney was pushing anything Rebels related?
