  1. Sorry man, I don't work for them and they very rarly let me in to why they choose to do anything. If I had to speculate I'd say it was down to cost or that they are bringing it in line with the LCGs which don't have foils either. Now go and persuade Travelling Man that you want a Store Championship and get them to let me know!!
  2. Sorry man, no foils in Tekken, in fact no more foils in UFS from now on..........

  4. Fiddlestix said: Sorry to contribute me two cents here, but couldn't the store order the kit and just hire the local hall to run it? I don't think it says you have to run the event in the store does it? Just give people plenty of notice that it will be held locally (I've been to your shop dudes, its within piddling distance). And if the hire fee is zero, everyone ones a winner baby! I suppose it could and who would know until after the event? The problem is it could lead to being banned from running future events if FFG took that stance. I don't work for FFG, I don't have the power to say "you must do it this way!". I'm just a huge believer that you should support your local store, but how you guys choose to organise your tournaments is up to you I guess.

Great ANOTHER event Exit (Pigeon) Games misses out on. Thanks Steve, bloody fun spoiler. I'm sorry for Dan, Steve. I was going to go down to EXIT to ask if there is a back room or something we could use for this. Nats was great by the way thanks for making the effort . runnerb3an said: I'm sorry for Dan, Steve. Don't worry fella, its water of a ducks back and I can see why there would be reason to be annoyed, just not with me is all........ On a different note, I'm still waiting on some of the stores to confirm, if you guys could hassle your local store it would be appreciated. I'm thinking mainly of: Static - Glasgow EXIT - Helston Future Dimensions - Swindon Phoenix Games - Leicester Lingard - Colchester Fan Boy 3 - Manchester Travelling Man - Newcastle If any of you guys in these towns want and event I need confirmation please. If anybody wants a holiday and woudl like to win a Store Champ in a different country may I suggest Ponva in Ljubljana in Slovenia...
  6. Thank you Leah, this makes life much easier and Kev will buy you flowers as a thank you..............

Yeah - there may be a problem there, I'm actually busy that Sunday at a family meal - it's like the only Sunday I've been busy in ages - typical!! lol, typical!! I'm sure I can sort something out though, time to go plot things...........
  8. I'll tentatively say yes to the Beeston event, subject to travel, crashing at Kev's, etc...............
  9. If Beeston is on a Sunday I could make that probably, bit boned for Saturdays.

Great ANOTHER event Exit (Pigeon) Games misses out on. Thanks Steve, bloody fun spoiler. You could always try running it in the shop instead though couldn't you? Alternatively you could do as several others will have to do, travel to a store running the event, Antics in Plymouth for example. As Rob said, I'm just the messenger. If you think I'm the fun spoiler then why did I send some Nationals promos down with Eggle for you guys who couldn't make it? What a bastard I am eh?
  11. Korrin said: You're opening a new store in Beeston? Whereabouts, as I live in Beeston! Kevin LMAO...............
  12. Aelifira said: Chimera both Ripley and Beeston will be running Store Championship, we ordered our kits yesterday, check out our new post for more info. Leah @ Chimera Beeston confirmed then Leah?
  13. ChaosChild said: You had to pick that weekend didn't you. I'm going to be at Game. Sorry fella, but that is release week, is game really that important?
  14. jogo said: Is the base set included in the entry or not? Yeah, basically you buy the starter and create your deck from that.

That would be some time around, wait for it, w....a.....i...t......, a....n....d....., now................
  16. Wytefang said: What does "no Top Cut" refer to? Just wondering. In some tournaments, mainly large ones, after the rounds of swiss are done they will cut the top 8 or whatever and play three rounds of knock out swiss to find the actual winner. I'm not a huge fan of this personally, prefer straight swiss.
  17. R.Fluxing said: I think Lingards ordered the one for colchester today... took enough convincing on my part though. But yay none the less! The rang me about it, but Glynis said she would have to talk to Andrew about. Its no biggy though, I'm sure guys will get one
  18. Where: The Games Shop, 6 Wellington Street, Aldershot, Hampshire, GU11 2DZ When: Saturday 17th October. Starts: Registration - 10:00, First Round - 11:00. Format: Sealed Entry: £27.00 Prizes: Oh yes I have those, but it is a secret, trust me though, they are fecking awesome!!! It's all pretty straight forward really, you come on down to deepest, darkest Hampshire, you buy a W:I starter, you build your deck and you kick ass!! I can't make it any easier than that really. This will a 50 minute time limit, Swiss tournament with no top cut. All decks must be constructed using the standard rules of the game. Any questions please let me know. Steve
  19. These will be happening!! I have just sent an email to the stores in the UK that regularly run UFS detailing what they need to do to get one of these, but it will also require you guys to make sure the do it as the deadline is tight for the UK, I need confirmation by 30th September! I have wangled it so we get the kits shipped here and then shipped out to the stores. This event must be ordered and ran in a Bricks & Mortar store, sorry, no running it the local community center/scout hut/pub, it is called a Store Championship for a reason. So there you go, go forth and harrass your flg and get them to email me!! Just as a foot note, I received confirmation last night that FFG are happy for me to continue organising UFS in the UK and Europe.
  20. Thank you Ross, but I couldn't do what I do with out the help of the main man himself, Kev. It also helps that the whole UFS community is made up of a bunch of totally awesome players. It would have been very easy for me to go off to my new job and leave UFS in the hands of someone as Esdevium, but that's not how it will be, you guys deserve more than someone with no interest in the game paying scant attention. The bottom line is you are stuck with me. As for the store championships, man I love it when FFG don't even bother to communicate with me on these things, but nothing new there. Leave this with me and I will get an answer from them as soon as humanly possible.
  21. Fiddlestix said: That......would be AWESOME!!! Really?
  22. The shop is in Aldershot, which is in Hampshire. It is easily reached by train, out of Waterloo, or the M3........... I'll be posting details as soon as humanly possible about the event, just need a release date.
  23. As far as I am aware the game will be release here (UK) in October, but I don't have an exact date as yet, sorry. The game should release here at the same time as it does in the colonies. If you are in the South of England I will be holding a release event at The Games Shop in Aldershot the week of release.
  24. It is surprising how few people post on the boards tbh and yet the view counts for a lot of threads get in to triple figures pretty quickly. Wouldn't worry about it fella, I'm sure there will be a few of us at the event...........
