Because Arkham Horror is one of the best games I ever played I bought all the expansions. They 're all even good. One is harder then the other so you can choose what you want to play. So I hope you can do something with my advise.

The error you make is that you assume you can only remove one doom token per turn. This is not the case. You probably misunderstand the rules on Final Combat. You remove one doom token every N successes where N = the number of investigators at the beginning of the game
That's where I make a mistake, this clears everything, thanks.
-
What I understand of the rules is that each round the accient one can only loose one doom token. So if for example in a game with 2 players we have in total (in turn 1) 4 succesfull hits, the monster still loose only one doom token.
-
In your example we have the same problem. When we hit turn 10 the terror level is then 10, but still 2 doom tokens to go because his doomtrack is 12. So we can never win because the teror level reaches the 10 earlier then we end the doom track (in this case 12) of the accient one?
-
We still don't get it. Because the rules say that after the investigators had there attack (succesfull or not) the accient one does his attack. Still after 10 turns the monster always wins even if we "the investigators" win each turn.
So please explain what you mean by you can take doom tokens from the card? I cann't find the rule that when the investigators win the turn, the accient ones doesn't do his attack.
Maybe it's a language thing (our native language isn't English).
Thx

We don't get the attacks from the ancient ones. It is impossible to defeat them.
For example "Glaaki", his attack text is "Raise the terror level by 1. If it is 10 or higher, all investigators are devoured". His doom track is 12. 12 - 10 = 2! ;-)
But it means that it is impossible to go father back then doom track 2? Always doomtrack no 1 and 2 stays with a doom token and all investigators are devoured.
Monster "Yig" same story. After each round the modifier decrease by 1. So after 7 turn no investigator has any sanity or stamina left, so you never come beyond doom track 2.
What do we do wrong?
-
Maybe this is a language issue.
When I read "you gain 1 stamina", while I'm at mine max stamina, can I still get one more?
For example mine stamina maximum is 7 and I have already 7 stamina on mine card and I draw a card with this text, is it then possible to get mine stamina to 8?
Thx

If you 're in the other world and at the other world encounter fase you have a card which send you back to Arkham. Where in Arkham? At the open gate or any place you want to go to?
Thx

The rules say that no monster in Dunwich count for the monsterlimit, but what happens if a monstersurge happens in an location in Dunwich and the monsters in Arkham are at there max?
The rules say that when a monstersurge happens you have to devide the monsters at the opengates. When the monsters are at max put them in the outerskirts. But monsters from Dunwich never go to this outerskirts. So where are the monster go to then?
Thx.

some gate cards has a "A monster appears!" action. But where does that monster appears? In the other world? And so, do you have to fight it right away or can you evade it? Or does the monster appear in Arkham?
Thx.
-
For example I have a fight of 1 at mine investigatorcard and a +3 to Combat checks on mine itemcard. The monster has a -2 fight.
How must I see this?
1) I have 4 combat checks - 2 (from the monster), so I can roll 2 dice? Or
2) First all investigatorfights - 2, so he has -1 and this is set to 0 and then + 4 combat check (from the item card). I now roll with 4 die?
Thx

As I'm understand is that when a gate is closed and you haven't enough clue token to seal it this turn, you may seal it in another turn.
1) In which fase can you seal it? We do now in the Arkham Encounter fase.
2) What happens if in the meanwhile in the Mythos fase a gate for the just closed location is drawn? We play it now that that is bad luck and a new open gate is put in this location, but is this the way to do it?
thx

Can somebody explain me what the text means: "you have an encounter at the inner Sanctum instead"?
Where is the Inner Sanctum?
Thx.

Thx, I just read it. It's still a lot to remember all those rules and also in another language

The location card for "Historical Society" has the next text:
Pass a Luck(-1) [2] check to gain ....
what means --> [2] ?Already thx for the answer.

when you have the itemcard "Knife" for how long can you use this?
For example we have had the "The Terrible Experiment" mythos card. With this card you can fight more than one monster in one turn. So is it then possible that this "Knife" card works in every battle with the different monsters?
Already thx for the answer.

Thx, the back of the rulebook was the only page I didn't read. Page 13 I also didn't read because it is called "other rules".
I thought that if you want to have another gameplay read "other rules". Now I understand that it means the rest of the rules, so it is a language
thing.But thx again.

I'm a new player to Arkham horror and I read the rules, twice. But maybe it because my native language isn't english but I cann't figure out what a succesfull roll with the dice is. In the example in the rulebook is said that "she rolls a 5 and a 6" those are a succesfull roll. But where in the rulebook is this explained? What is the rule, can somebody help me.
Thx.

Neither, expansions monsters don't count for the monsterlimit.
