Can you have 2 scouts on 2 different squares and come time to gather resources can you gather from both squares? A friend of mine was the english and had 4 armies on 4 different sqaures and also 2 scouts on 2 different squares and thought he could harvest 6 production from his city and 6 production from his 4 armies and 2 scouts. I did not see in the rules where only 1 scout gathering is aloud.

Thank you both for your quick response

Do you deal a shadow effect card every round of combat to an enemy you have engaged but have not killed. I thought the shadow effect was a form of surprise, but once you have engaged them the first round and have not yet killed them the element of surprise is gone during the next round of combat.

It says all of your units are +1 strength. Does this mean all units health is also +1
-
i know routed units do not apply there strength during combat, but when attacked can they play a card??

My opponent went to move 3 army figures over to a barbarian village when he reached it it was within 6 squares of my army figures so i played the culture event card mass defection which reads(Choose a square within 6 squares of one of your figures or cities. Kill 2 figures in the chosen square. This may interrupt a figure's movement.) My question is can i play the card after he arrived at the barbarian village killing 2 figures and forcing him to fight them with one army or do i need to kill them after the fight or before he moves. Im not sure when the timing of playing the card comes into play. Thanks for any feed back on this

maybe a dumb question but if we drew ungoliant's spawn early in the game and killed him when we reach the quest 3 card where it says to defeat ungoliants spawn to win the game do you automatically win the game or do you have to find and reveal 2 more spiders, Ungoliant's spawn being one and then fight him all over again????

Quick question.
During the encounter phase when you pick 1 enemy to engage and then preform engagement checks does the one you chose to engage get to attack first or just defend. The combat rule says all enemies attack first, but doesnt say that the one you chose only defends. I would think that is the advantage to picking one to attack so you dont waist one guy on defending.
-
My guess is "yes you still defended because your character was dealt damage before it left play.
-
also if you have a card that has the keyword sentinel on it. you can attack if your oppenant goes undefended.
-
hey quick question, can you have 3 copies of Gandalf in your deck.

Thank you RATATOSKR for taking the time to answer my questions. I will check out the FAQ. section and I reread page 24 in the basic rule book. Thanks again I love this game.

Hello,
My friend and I just purchased 12 chapter packs for Christmas we've only played with the core set and are ready to take the plunge into deck building. So I have some questions that I'm hoping to get answered.
1. When stacking your deck can you put any card into your deck unless it says "House so-n-so only?
2. It says in the rules that if the card is a unique card then only one of them can be in play except its duplicate. So if my opponent has Rob Stark in play and I also had Rob Stark in my hand (because i stacked him in my deck as well) does that mean the card in my hand is now worthless?
3. Also I noticed on the form some of the players deck listings showed they had multiple characters (that were not unique) with 3 cards. So can you play all 3 side by side on the table or are these considered duplicated as well. And why only 3 duplicates? Why not 4 or 5 or can you not have more then 3 of the same card.
4. Also can you have multiples of locations as well? Like can I play 3 Bear Island locations, and if the requirements are met I could kill 3 people? What about having 3 brothels and kneeling 3 people every round? Also if by opponent has Bear Island in play can I also have a Bear Island location in play at the same time?
5 I guess I'm a little confused on what cards and how many cards of the same kind you can stack in your deck.

Quick question,
When both "valar morghulis and wild fire assault" plot cards are played at the same time then wild fire assault is nullified. Because no matter what order they are resolved in everybody dies. Correct?
-
Yes you are correct Ktom!! I used compelled by the rock. I was loosing to Stark 7 to 13 with only one guy remaining I was desperate and i came back for the win in 2 rounds. But now that I see Tywin would have died from the deadly and the fact that Nymeria was Stark character only, my opponent will cry for a rematch.
Thanks again for all your help on learning this game, I just wish my other friends would purchase cards also so I could play the game in its entirety.
-
My Stark opponett did a millitary challenge on me and I only had 1 character. The character was Tywin Lannister with Nymeria (Kneel Nymeria to save attached character from being killed) attached to it. He attacked with a deadly and I defended with no deadly. When it came time to pay the claim I knelt Nymeria to save Tywin lannister, then when it came time to pay for the deadly I said you can't choose a character to die twice. He said they are 2 seperate events, which makes me believe perhaps they are.
QUESTION: Is the claim and deadly 2 seperate events

1. It says in the framework action window "When revealed" plot effects resolve (In order determined by First Player)
Question: Does this mean if the plot card "Valar Morghulis" was played and someone declared him to go first, would all characters die and then my plot card The Power of Blood would be useless to save any of my ring characters?
2. Also, what if I played the plot card "Wildfire Assault" and Targaryens' card "The Titan's Bastard" was on the board? How does his response work?
-
Thanks Lars, that clears things up. I'm really glad they have this forum and that there are plenty of people out there who enjoy boardgames like me. I have been playing boardgames for many years and its nice to see the boardgame industry grow like it has compared to years past when there were very few choices compared to today. Well thanks again and keep on gaming.

On FFG's website it says that A Clash of Arms is the first series of chapter packs for the A Game of Thrones LCG. I ordered them and realized on the back it says for the CCG. Also the card format is slightly different then my LCG. My question is, are these cards compatible with the LCG set? And if they are why are the cards different? and do I have to remove any other cards from my LCG set in order to use these? I'm a bit confused why this set came out before the LCG core set did, and why the game stores in my area have never heard of this first series but they carry all the other sets. Thanks, just trying to clear the confusion.

Question: When a card says that you can take controll of an opponents character does it go immediatly in your play area standing up or knelt, or does it go into your hand?
-
Thank you WWDrakey,
That was the answer I was looking for. And no need to apoligize Ktom, you've answered many of my questions in the past which is why I am still playing and having fun. Thanks again guys. Boy, if only they had these forms when I was a kid, we always had to just make the rules up ourselves after long eveings arquing about it. Of course I'm 40 yrs old now and there wasn't internet then.

I maybe need to rephrase question number 4 from the beging of this form.
Question: When you kneel a character the attachment does not kneel correct? During the dominance phase it says to count all standing characters str. plus gold. If one of my characters are knelt but the attachment titled LORDSHIP that says (During dominance phase attached character gets +4 str.) do I get to count the +4 str. even thought my character is knelt?
