any2cards reacted to Zaltyre in Rumor Card Question
Generally speaking, yes he can. If the overlord has the option of choosing the next quest, a rumor in play is going to add to the list of available quests.

any2cards got a reaction from Lightningclaw in A quick question for first edition players
They can be quite enjoyable to play with. Just make sure you know all of the rules that apply. In addition, I heavily recommend that you acquire the final FAQ for the game, as there are some rulings for boulders (as well as a whole lot of other clarifications). The final FAQ was created on 2012-07-12. If you don't know where to get it, here is a link:

any2cards got a reaction from wyatt606 in Map Tiles by expansions
Here are the NUMBERED tiles for all expansions:
Descent Base Game - The Shadow Rune: 1-30
Lair of the Wyrm: 31-35, S1A
Labyrinth of Ruin: 36-43
The Trollfens: 43-49, S2A
Shadow of Nerekhall: 50-69
Manor of Ravens: 70-77
Notes: Yes, both Labyrinth of Ruin and The Trollfens came with corner connector 43. Multiple pieces. In addition, all of the sets came with 1x2 end pieces and 1x2 connector pieces. The base game came with entrance and exit tiles. Some of them came with 2x2 connector pieces. I personally just bag all of the non-number pieces in a separate bag.
If you absolutely need to know which sets came with what connectors, I can find out. Don't know why it would matter though. I guess you could be thinking of selling, and if that is the case, I will erase my answer

any2cards reacted to ScummyRebel in yet another forum dumpsterfire, move along
He will anyway, because the tv told him to. Just like it told it him it’s impossible to go outside and be responsible (unless it’s for x, y, or z reason, which it magically becomes ok then).
I have no contact with higher risk people. The death rate is a sham, and even the CDC is admitting excess death reporting (source: CDC.gov, multiple articles). Are there demographics that are royally screwed if they get it? Yes. Should we put in place some provisions to help keep them safe? Yes. Should we lockdown the world for years until it’s over (because let’s be honest, a vaccine is years away)? Absolutely not! It’s not tenable, and we’ll have more deaths because of that requirement (domestic violence, suicide, violent crime due to no money etc) than we will have had covid deaths.
I for one prefer to walk not in blind fear or panic, but in proper moderation. And to that end, the only thing holding me back from a semi-gathering is the inability of a location to do so. I played in a store championship a mere 48 hours before the businesses closed down game spaces. I used precautions of not touching my face without decontamination first, and I washed up before touching any food or drink.

any2cards got a reaction from AwesomeTree_in_the_Dark in D2e Card Templates & Assets
As many of you may already know, I am the author of the D2e Card Viewer extension for Chrome. In addition, I recently went through and re-generated all of the cards that are used by the viewer.
After this work was done, I was contacted by several people asking if I would share the card templates and assets I used to make the cards, so that those individuals could create custom content of their own. I took some time to gather all of the assets, and have placed them into my DropBox. I will update this if I ever get even better (or original digital assets) for any of the cards.
Note that there are folders for each type of card, as well as a folder called "general" and a folder called "fonts". The "general" folder contains assets that are used across many cards, and the "fonts" folder contains all of the fonts used for the text and symbols on cards. Even if you only need one type of card (say you want to create a new monster), make sure you look in the "general" folder, as it may contain items you may need (such as the dice assets, etc.).
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via PM, or via e-mail at: any2cards@yahoo.com
Enjoy !

any2cards got a reaction from Mattboggan in FFG Shuts Vault Down
Today, I added to my Quest Vault Assets DropBox, a new folder called PDFs.
This folder contains 3,747 PDFs of custom quests that were stored within the Quest Vault. They are currently labeled with the ID value.
Also within this folder is an excel spreadsheet called Quest Vault.xlsx which contains much of the information that relates to each of the custom quests, including a correlation between the ID and the TITLE of the quest.

Just a shout out to everyone on an excellent product I just purchased. I know there are a number of custom creators out there. Keep up the good work!
I just purchased HighbridgeDesign F-series template/token tray and carry box. Excellent quality, quick customer service/communication, and worked with me to make a custom engraving on my lid. I recommend them.

I hope you are right. I just don't believe that to be the case.
As for the "forum was condemned to die" comment ... it was directed more to the history of what happened with D1e. When FFG ended production of all things D1e, the forum basically went away shortly afterward. Now, to be completely fair, part of this is because they started the D2e forum, and most likely didn't want any apparent confusion as to which was which.
Still, they all but eliminated the existence of the product from their website; this in turn eliminated most interactions between individuals about the game. Why would it have hurt to maintain both? I, and many of my friends, still play way more D1e than we do D2e.
I'm just afraid that now that there is nothing new coming out for D2e, the forum will end up going down the same road, and I will no longer have the opportunity for stimulating conversations about the great game with people such as yourself.
EDIT: And quite frankly, the elimination of the D1e forum & product from FFG's website was by FFG themselves (as that was the whole company back then); Asmodee is WAY WAY worse with this kind of thing. They are getting rid of whole product lines that they see as not competitive monetarily; that's fine as its a business decision; but to also remove methods of communicating about the product such as their forums, when people invested significant amounts of money in the game, is simply short sighted and callous.

any2cards reacted to Mu0n729 in X-Wing Vassal module - new website and hands-on guide
Vassal play has boomed over the last few days as people seek normalcy (understandably) in solid ways to play their beloved X-Wing game online without risk.
I've drastically updated these two web resources to help new and old players alike to learn/brush up on the latest features of the last few years!
Website URL: http://xwvassal.info
Old website: module and vassal league one-stop-shop
New website: module one-stop-shop
Guide URL: http://xwvassal.info/guide
Old guide: very outdated and related to the first edition
New guide: very up to date and related to second edition

Thanks. I am well aware it was still kind of available ... note that in my post above, I did say this:
"Still, they all but eliminated the existence of the product from their website"
You must admit that it is not easy to find ... in fact, I would say that anyone that has not been on this site for quite some time wouldn't even know that archive exists. Its even hard to find via Google searches, and they index **** near everything ...

There has been absolutely no suggestion, hint, or other representation that anything new for D2e will be coming out ... quite the opposite ... FFG has EXPRESSLY stated that there will be NO MORE CONTENT for D2e.
There HAVE been discussions and AMAs, etc. about some exciting thing that may come out RELATED TO or A PART OF the Terrinoth realm. That's it. Period.
I am not being pessimistic. I am stating facts.
Many people on this forum as well as BGG keep misconstruing what has been stated into some dream that will result in D2e content. You all need to join reality.
Don't get me wrong ... I love the game ... I wish I was wrong ... but I am just repeating what FFG personnel have themselves stated.

Descent, (1e, 2e) is a dead product. All of the what-if-ing aside, all of the prognosticating and wishful dreams are just that. This forum will soon go the same path as the D1e forum ... unavailable.
