You were and are one of the brightest soul and heart of this community - and to be honest not surprised that you already started to think about it

any2cards reacted to Zaltyre in With the rather meh seemingly public opinion of Descent Legends in the Dark, would you support a 3e if FFG crowdfunded it?
If Legends fails and the development/printing costs don't pay off, that will be a signal they've lost touch with a gamer base and should adapt their marketing strategy accordingly. Except for the price of the content and a few aesthetic decisions, Legends seems very well aimed at the group which has been consuming RtL (which by my understanding has been a gigantic driver of sales for D2e in the last few years). If you watched these forums when RtL was debuting, all anyone talked about was converting existing campaigns to solo/app compatibility and searching for ways to make Descent solo playable in general. Legends (to me) appears to take those prayers and answer them, though now most of the vocal commentary seems to be "app required? No thanks!"
It's neither here nor there from my perspective, as RtL (while a nicely designed product) and Legends by extension, completely miss what I personally find engaging about Descent, the 1 vs. many dynamic.

I would agree with @rugal ... if the game is precisely (or at least mostly) what I am looking for, then yes, I would participate in Crowdfunding. But this means that it DOES NOT use an app, it is 1 v many (Overlord), etc. Any derivation from this will result in me not participating.

any2cards got a reaction from tibia in Delayed Release to Q3 2021
^--- This. Perhaps a bit of hyperbole, but I am pretty sure I wouldn't take this game if they GAVE it to me. The art, the boards, etc., all look cheesy ...
And for those who claim (other threads) that they can't provide game mechanics, etc. right now, that is disingenuous at best, misleading at worse. I think they are afraid to do so, because it will be just another nail in the coffin that points at how crappy this game is going to be ... thus ruining their potential sales.
I will say it again ... I am willing to take bets that at the very least ACT III of this game NEVER sees the light of day. It is possible ACT II won't either.

I miss you already. It's a bigger loss than FFG abandoning the 2nd edition productline ....

Time may very well prove me wrong, but I will be VERY shocked if we EVER see a Descent: Legends of the Dark Act III box be commercially available.

any2cards got a reaction from Gupa-nupa in How are People Feeling About Having to Buy Out of Faction for Upgrades?
I disagree. There is absolutely no reason why FFG couldn't plan to release a card pack at the same time as expansions, that include the cards that are out of faction. None what so ever. Not gonna ever happen, but it would be possible, and I think would be very lucrative as well.

any2cards got a reaction from Archangelspiv in How are People Feeling About Having to Buy Out of Faction for Upgrades?
If you read what I wrote, you will see that I am not expecting anything. The OP stated it was "impossible" to do. That is factually incorrect. It is possible.
I also stated that I never expected to see FFG ever do it. This, in of itself, does not make it "impossible".
I also do think that if they waited a period of time to gather a sufficient amount of cards (no matter what faction they belonged to), say on a quarterly or bi-annual basis, there would be significant demand for the sale of such a product. And if, as others have pointed out, it would come out a specific times during the year, then people could decide whether to buy it, or wait for a theoretical expansion pack that may or may not come out with the cards they are looking for ...

any2cards got a reaction from kbalazsa in Missing 12 heroes from Conversion Kit
I have created 3 heroes, based on the information provided within this thread. They are:
Brother Glyr, Mad Carthos, and Red Scorpion
Please note that I started with @Zaltyre's creations, and then modified them slightly based on input from @rugal and @ComtriS. In addition, I took some small liberties on minor wording changes to make things look better and flow better. If these are not acceptable, please let me know.
Finally, I did use the new image for Brother Glyr, although I agree that I like the original image better. I do feel pretty strongly, however, that we should use new/different images for ALL of the heroes we create for the missing 12 for 2 reasons:
First, it will help differentiate them. Second, it should help avoid an IP complaints. My two cents.
I am working on creating the other ones, but wanted to begin with those that there seemed to be reasonable consensus ...
Here is a link to the images:

Once all of these ideas for these 12 missing heroes are hashed out, and a reasonable agreement occurs across those participating, @ComtriS I would appreciate it if you would post new images of the 12 heroes with the "final" version of their respective stats and abilities. I would like to gather them and add them to my collection. I will then use inDesign, and re-create them matching FFG's style, and post them for use within my D2e Card Viewer as community created assets. Thanks.
