Isn't there a plot in the Core Set where your opponent has to pay you 2 gold to initiate a Military challenge against you? Would that help at all against Fear of Winter? Is that 2 gold per Military challenge?

The box set filled many of Starks big holes, making them better, but not broken. 1. In house attachment control. 2. In house location control. 3. In house Intrigue icons. 4. In house Draw. 5. In House limited Rush. 6. Challenge-phase Targeted kill. 7. Winter effects without the gold penalty. None of these are overwhelming in and of themselves, but in the right combination it could make them competetive in Joust.

On of my favorite Bran paintings from the game yet. I especially love the Direwolf on the headboard and the lighting and shadows implying it's from the night of the Library Tower fire. It might be my favorite of your ASoIaF paintings.

I know you love Lannister, but after hearing about your experiences playing Martell on this thread, have you thought about switching houses? Your luck seems to run better in Martell.

Staton, that's pretty much everyone's standard Bara rush. If you get a good flop, you can roll. If you don't, your hosed after turn 3. My first LCG deck was bara/summer so I am well aware of its capabilities. I would worry more about Lanni hyper kneel and Targ burn than Lanni shadows. BTW, who was playing Lannister shadows when you were beating them consistently?

No, but during winter block there were quite a few CBK characters and events that almost neutralized the Military challenge.

I'm more worried about neutral 4 strength CBK characters returning to the environment than I am about him benefiting from my opponents agendas. Too many CBK NPE's from Winter block. Hopefully this doesn't signal an influx of CBK into the LCG environment.

Thanks guys. What threw me off was the idea of the keyword deadly being gained after claim resolved still going off as if the character had it all along. I guess a better question is why does Renown happen apart from the other passives? Were there past cards that created this?

So are there a hierarchy of keywords? Renown before deadly so that you gain the keyword? Is there a list of this order? It seemed to me that you would have to have deadly before the resolution of the challenge in order for it to take effect. Is there some precedence that decides this? I'm not trying to be an as about this, I just don't understand why it works the way you decided.

Thanks Erick for a well run event. Everything went smoothly and ahead of schedule. I had fun and thanks to some good luck, I left with the only swag I really wanted. It was nice to meet and play against Rob and the the lesser known members of the DC meta and a pleasant reunion with the greater East Coast meta. Lookin forward to NY even more now. I ran Greyjoy/Winter, and my only 2 losses were Stark/Summer and Lannister/Shadows, both played by better players. Congrats to the winners, especially Alec for his first top 4 finish at a Regional event!
