I have been sold on support of the kingdom for quite awhile now, I will never run a deck without 3 of them. thats good I'll run 3x streets, 3x 2 for 2 reducers, 1x chambers (attached to my house card) and a bunch of strong none income locations. now you have three dead cards in your deck. I could even add in the seas and use them on turn they are played. In lanni, martell, bara, targ, and stark i can add in or substitute gold providing characters, The 0 limited reducer, or the 1 gold character reducers. . You could run that income set, but 80% of decks run either the Feifdoms, Limited +1 gold locations, or the shadow +1 gold location, so normally it won't be a dead card. And in an environment where Greyjoy Winter is a strong archetype, it could really be crucial. How many times have you had games where +1 gold would have completely changed your marshalling and ultimately the way the game played out?
  2. Beautiful art. How many cards from this cycle did you create the art for?
  3. I'm really hoping.The achievements look interesting.
  4. Nice to see the return of all those players. Casey really is a blast from the past. Way to come back with style. As for Lannister, isn't it telling that the best players are choosing Lannister, even players I don't normally think of as Lannister players(Greg in Minnesota). Despite the recent bannings and erratas, Lanni still must have the most going for them. When other houses start getting 2-3 spots in the top 4 or winning all the major events, come back to me that the issue is the player and not the house.
  5. I really wish Wildlings and Nightwatch were playable archetypes. It seems to me that the NW were designed to only interact with the new The North agendas, and 6 power is alot to overcome for undercosted tricons. Martell or Baratheon might have the rush capacity to overcome it, but the benefit just isn't worth it in those houses. Both of those houses have the icon diversity built in. I was really hoping the Wildling The North agendas were going to provide stealth, deadly, and renown(maybe just for uniques). At least the wildlings tend to be undercosted monocons, but without the return of specialized challenges or some similar benefit for being a monocon, they are just somewhat flavorful neutrals. Maybe if NW had another mechanic, like Shadowhate or Seasontech. They seem really underwhelming in comparison to Shadows or the Seasons. But maybe the Stark boxset or the last 2 CPs will have the answers.

  7. rings said: BTW I think that old 1-cost location that allowed a draw if you had the highest iniative was decently priced...although at that time there was much more consistent location control. Which reminds me: 3. If everyone has more draw, shoudln't everyone have access to good location and character control? ... Personally, I liked the game better w/ PTTS and PTTT legal (w/ Paper Shield as the counter) but that is just me. QFT
  8. Love the card, Erick! Thanks for designing another great Blackfish.
  9. I love the new Quorin card. Renown and targeted kill are awesome in any deck. Congrats Jonathan on designing a great card!
  10. So glad to see these cards back. Stark is back to being competetive. Still not sure if they will crack the top 3 houses in Joust with the release of these cards, but at least they will be competetive. I also really hope that original Game of Thrones and Clash of Kings will be reprinted.
  11. Happy Birthday ktom. Thanks for all you contribute to the community.
  12. Some of the chapter pack cards were slightly larger and could be identified in the deck that way. That might also be part of the reason for sleeving. But I'm not sure that is an exclusively recent phenomenon. Personally, I would never call foul if my opponent did not sleeve his deck at a Regional. And I almost always sleeve my decks. Too many ruined cards from my Dad and I playing the Battletech CCG.
  13. I would love to see Bastard return as well as some Bastard hate. Why is there no more bastard hate?
  14. Our last tournament was Civil War, and it really was a blast. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it.
  15. Slightly off-topic, but building on the post from Dondiego, why do the cards banned in LCG have to be banned in Legacy? Is it just for ease or are they really that powerful? I'm not sure there needs to be a banned list for the Legacy since it is highlander format. I can see the case for Jaquen, the cards from Westeros Edition, and maybe the Prince's Loyalist. I think the rest would be fine in Highlander.
  16. We used to play alot of 2v2 before the multiplayer titles came out. But we always played to cumalitive 30-40 depending on the agendas of the players(if any). It was alot of fun and I would enjoy playing that as a side event at a Regional. I personally enjoyed playing Littlefinger format as well, and I would like to try the one where you play randomly and try to win as many in a row as possible. The name had something to do with the khal's braids.
  17. Dondiego said: I understand that few cares about "other formats" like classic highlander... so sorry if i bring the topic out to light...but i don't see how the hell Compelled by the Rock is more game-breaking then, let's say, King's Landing promo. Lannister, to stay "in house", has so much ridicolous cards to play with, as Seal of the lion, Wheels within wheels... seriously, there are plenty of cards that are to be banned in classic (even if i am against ban in that format...) before Compelled by the Rock. If that is for game balance, please, explain why is the Brothers at war agenda is still legal in that format. In regards to Compelled, the play I've seen the most with the card is to Benjen Cache the Compelled to move a Swayed by the light against Baratheon. And i've seen it a lot 'cause, as Stahleck results says, Baratheon Brothers composes the 50% of the playfield in classic highlander. I hope it is a miswriting... how else is Pyromancer's Cache, just to speak, less object of banning in respect of Compelled in the classic format? Have a look of the power level of the non plot-cards banned in the format... There are 6 (Six) of them. Is compelled really as powerful as The things I do for love? Or Counterplot? Please... Again, I understand that the market now is LCG, but please be respectful for those who have spent a lot of money in the years past, and still want to enjoy the old cards. Sorry for bad english, and no pun intended, i just want to understand those choices that seem to me unreasonable. I know this will have little or no echo, but i'm between the few who still play from Westeros to the latest Chapter Pack. We Exist. Consider us a little. Dondiego The banning of Compelled, Cache, and Jaquen are only for LCG. Is there an updated banned list for Legacy?
  18. Twn2dn said: On a somewhat unrelated note, I draw contention with claims that Martell and Stark have viable "rush" builds. They certainly have great rush cards that can close out a game, but a "rush" deck cannot be reliant on any one card. (Bara doesn't need Robert out to win quickly...a few other lords/ladies and knights will do the trick just fine.) Just because Stark has Eddard and Martell has the Red Viper doesn't make them houses that can consistently rush. Now maybe they'll get rush support in the next cycle or two, and I'd be happy to see that too. But it really begins to undermine an argument when a post is laced with statements about how Bara's rush isn't unique and it should be much stronger to set them apart from other houses. (I don't mean this to be a rant, though in retrospect it kinda sounds that way. Feel free to ignore, flame, whatever....) I think Martell can rush as fast as Greyjoy, if not faster. I agree that Stark rush is a joke.
  19. Yes and No. Legacy Classic has access to all kinds of overpowered cards, but it's hard to get them all into one deck and and create synergy. Besides, your opponent has access to the same number of overpowered cards.
  20. I would still take Martell into Melee. They are still in the top 3 Melee houses, even with the Fury plot. And I would never take Targ into Melee, even without the Fury plot. Targ can't close fast enough for Melee.
  21. In Classic and Classic highlander I play mostly Stark. In LCG I like Martell, Greyjoy, and Bara right now.
  22. Will...not ...rant....about....multiple...versions...of...uniques...in...LCG.
  23. LetsGoRed said: kpmccoy21 said: I read the books first, and if it wasn't my love of the source material, I probably would have dropped the game sometime last year right after the switch to LCG. Interesting. And how about now? Is the LCG pool now robust enough that it alone keeps you engaged with the game or is part of what keeps you playing still your love for the source material? For me, I loved the books, but I think my appreciation for them and desire for future installments would at this point be muted if not for the game keeping Westeros fresh in my mind. It is playable now, but its still not robust. When compared to 2-3 full blocks, it is not robust, but all 6 houses are really able to build decks and Lannister is not the only really playable house, so it is definitely playable. It will be robust in 2-3 years barring rotation. I feel like we have a real Base set and 3 expansions.
