Eddie reacted to subtrendy2 in It's FRIDAY!!!!! Who will we see spoiled today??
Shirtless Kylo Ren's height would be at Imperial Assault's scale, while just his upper body would be more at Legion's scale.

I had to cut in the arms as well, the part that goes into the socket that is. Didn't touch any visible part. After that, it fitted very well. It was easier to cut it down and have it slide in easily. You can use glue to make it stick instead of relying  on the tight fit. Did some regular greenstuff on the arms and jaw. Jaw is probably most important here as the head is a focal point.
I removed a part of the base as well. Feet didn't fit and the base would curl. So cut one part (careful with that, I had a very deep cut in my finger because of Mr rancor). And glued the feet on instead.

The rancor is easily my favorite miniature to paint. Not hard to get an impressive result out of this one. In fact, I'd love to do one again some time.

Yes! And they show up in current campaigns, so no need to start over.

I like both Rebels and Clone Wars. Quality of episodes differs a lot in Clone Wars. Some of the best star wars stories ever and some real stinkers as well. While quality is more constant in Rebels, at least in my opinion. Haven't seen a rebel episode yet that is cringe-worthy to watch, can't say the same for clone wars. Clone wars gets great during season 2. But there are some stinkers even in season 4 (I'm looking at you, mon calamari prince!).
Not a comic guy, but I've read the vader series and was happy with them. Didn't care much about the villain (can't even remember his name) and the drawing style for him was off. Like they drew someone they knew in real life. It just didn't fit all that well with the rest of it. But I loved Dr Aphra and the droids.  Going to start with the new vader series. Read Aphra as well and it wasn't bad, but could've been better. Haven''t read screaming citadel yet. Any other good comic series? I've heard good things about Maul and Kanan. I hate Poe Dameron in the movies, so going to stay away from those.
Haven't read any books yet. Thinking of starting with the Thrawn series as everyones says they are great.

Eddie reacted to a1bert in Starting a Hoth campain, I want opinions on a couple of things
MHD-19 is powerful in the early missions to give focused to make the attacks of other rebels better (and stall activations so the IP needs to waste theirs), is powerful mid-campaign because recovering damage out of your activation relieves the heroes with the best weapons to use them instead of resting, and after MHD-19 saves for Bacta Radiator the rebels are unstoppable (recovering up to 8 damage per round undoes what the imperial figures can do before being defeated).
It's simply worse in the Return to Hoth where there are more missions without time limit or the imperial player has the time limit instead.
I'm still playing the third campaign (two and a half missions to go) with MHD-19 and the snowball is an avalanche. We have pretty big boosts to Indomitable (double health), I'm switching reserved groups, and +1 threat level to make the missions even a little interesting.
That's against top rebel players and non-realtime play though. Face-to-face the rebels would do more mistakes and with the best imperial classes and good preparation you might be able to hold on. But do not lose the first side mission...

Eddie reacted to Samea in Could we revisit the "Undo" button?
An "Undo" feature is not trivial to build.
Ok, technically you just have to save the last step or a list of previous steps and then walk backwards to these steps to restore a previous game state.
So one first problem is what constitutes one step? The last click? The last complete interaction (like a puzzle or a monster activation)? The last phase? A mix of those?
A second problem is how the game should behave once it has been restored to a previous feature. Should it redo the undone steps or take them differently when they are repeated? Did a user go back because to correct a wrong click or did she just want to reread an instruction she inadvertently clicked away when passing the tablet?
What new data does the software have to store that it could ignore so far? Many things like monster fights are just displaying some random text from a list once. Remembering exactly what was displayed in which sequence and in which context and storing it in some way that the app can make sense of later is not easy.
Where to put the button to make it accessible in every situation and submenu? What if the user clicks "Undo" by accident, will that have the potential to break a game in some circumstances?
One huge problem is communicating to the user what precisely going back will mean. If I click the "Undo"-button, I want to have an exact idea what it will do in any given situation, but I don't want to have to read or understand stuff to know.
An "Undo" feature is not impossibly hard to do at all, but it is hard to do right. And if not done right, it will most certainly be very annoying and more trouble than help. So this is not something any intern could add in an afternoon. It is something software designers have to think about, a piece of software that has to be integrated in everything the app does and has the potential to break the build at any turn. It has to be tried and tested exhaustingly. It is a major addition that will take lots of time and work to add and to keep in line with everything the app will do in the future.
And then there is the question: Should the team work on something like this instead of fixing bugs and adding new content? Will the result pay for all this work? Will this feature make more people spend money on the game?  Or is it necessary to keep people from not buying more content?

I would not expect a working "Undo" feature anytime soon. Not because FFG are dumb or evil, but because it is hard to do and really not that necessary compared to keeping the software working and adding new stuff to play.

    > Better yet, does anyone have any tools that might "unpack" the guts and code of the app in a way that shows how each mission works and make it easier to adapt?
As part of supporting IA on Valkyrie I will be dumping out the game database.  Just exporting the text files will show all of the text for each mission, which is usually enough.

Well, only within reason. If you're activating a door you're in one of two spots.
If you're interacting with a terminal or crate, you're in one of potentially 8 spots...
That said, everyone who is complaining about the app not tracking enough stuff basically come across as wanting a video game version of Imperial Assault. (track health, position, show which dice they roll, etc)
Which would be pretty stupid for FFG to do, as it would pretty much negate the need for someone to buy a physical copy...

Do you have a suggestion about how that could be implemented without adding huge amounts of work transferring that information between the table and the app?
You would need a camera system and a reliable pattern recognition to differentiate figures that have been painted with various color schemes to have automatic tracking of figure locations.
You would need to have dice rolling in the app to make damage calculation automatic. You would need to manipulate all hero abilities in the app to make the damage calculation automatic. (Or you would be spending massive amounts of time clicking the app. See the Mansions of Madness 2nd ed app, where attacks are much less frequent.)
You would have the whole game in the app by then. What use is the physical core game then? You would end up with a videogame and need to charge for it, inviting licensing squabbles.

Well, what do you do if you have to cut a regular session short? Same thing here, right? They don't want to add the markers on the map cause then it would be very close to not needing the board game itself to play.

You still need two to be able to use them, so the app would need to know. Otherwise it wouldn't be able to do regular and elite at the same time.
