  1. Hi all. Yesterday I got my copy of Eldritch Horror and decided it was time to make the (inevitable) statistics form. Submit your game results here and view all submissions to date here. I designed the stats form by overhauling my Elder Sign form, so notify me of any mistakes or omissions. Rather than posting corrections to individual submissions here, email me: tibs.chris@gmail.com

Seems they couldn't keep the name of "Personal Missions" consistent in the rules. These Personal Story/Mission cards seem like they're conceptually identical to those in Arkham Horror. In AH I simply left a checkbox for whether everyone completed or failed theirs. Unless a Mission does something particularly radical, I don't think this is worth tracking. But I will open up the Stats to allow you to check multiple preludes. I'll have to think about how to present prelude stats though.

I'm not sure I'd know how. I need to know more about what campaign play is and how it affects ordinary gameplay. To me, the major purpose of these stats reports is to figure out which AO is the hardest. Once you start playing multiple games that all interrelate, that muddies things slightly. But I'm not opposed to the idea.

Wow, thanks again @Runko. What would I do without you? Also... Calvin Wright?? There's a name I didn't think I would see again.

You're absolutely right. I was going to mention how the difficulties and effectiveness scores are all hopelessly correlated, but when you use the word "stochastic," I know that you know already. I'm not so sure about the self-fulfilling prophecy, though. Perhaps the only players crazy enough to try this combo are the really experienced ones, so they'll bias the results towards victory. I've seen this on the Arkham Horror stats sheet: three Ancient Ones got official revisions, and in two of these cases the AO functions exactly the same except with an added penalty or other ability. However, the stats sheet showed that the objectively harder AO had a lower failure percentage for a time, probably because more dedicated players went up against it.

Perhaps! Though if I were to do this, I'd also use a "starting rumor" and the new reference cards since as I understand it, they're supposed to be a better-balanced replacement and not a variant simply for the sake of shaking things up.

Wow, I don't know, maybe! So far as I know, I can't get Spreadsheets to automatically cull entries. With Arkham Horror, I knew the games well enough to know what was an illegal entry so that I could manually delete it. All I know this time is that you can't win by final mystery against Azathoth.

Hi guys. It looks like since the forums changed, my email notifications got deactivated. I'll add the new stuff ASAP. Edit: form should now be updated. Thanks again, Runko.
  9. Hi all. Since I just acquired this game, I figured I'd give it the same treatment I've been giving Arkham and make a stats site where you can submit your game results. Unlike Arkham, however, this stats report is designed to update in real time! As a result, I expect the report to evolve heavily over the next couple of weeks. Submit your games here: Elder Sign Statistics submission form View the up-to-date report here: Elder Sign Statistics Reports PM me or email to tibs.chris@gmail.com with comments and corrections. Good luck, fellow investigators!

Hi everyone. Dam nudged me out of my long sleep and informed me that Omens of the Deep is on shelves, so I've added it (and Omens of Ice) to the stats form. Happy gaming!

Hey thanks Runko! The input form's been updated. I'm going to add the components to the site right now. Have at it, folks.

I have: I've begun PhD thesis work. I haven't played EH in over two years, and haven't used any expansions beyond the very first one (although i have purchased the two that followed). I still have some number of expansions yet to collect :-/

  14. Hello everyone! As many of you know or have seen, forum Ancient One MCFlainez used to run a site where he'd collect user-submitted Arkham game results. Occasionally he would post summaries of these submissions in the form of Arkham stats reports. Well, since MCFlainez was lost in time and space years ago, I've taken it upon myself to carry the torch. You can submit your Arkham Horror sessions at this site: Arkham Horror Statistics – Submission form On the 1st of every month (computer access permitting), I will update this stats summary page: Arkham Horror Statistics Reports You can view all the player submissions in cell format here: Submissions to date or in html-table format here: Submissions (old format) You're welcome to ask questions and make suggestions about the stats form in this thread. Since I've created the new Stats Report page, you can now ask for corrections in this thread, or you can email me at tibs.chris@gmail.com. Enjoy and happy gaming!

    Hmmm...questions?

To get more technical, your Outskirts limit is 2. When it is exceeded by a single monster, empty it and raise the Terror Level by 1. I worded it this way because if you exceeded the limit by 3 (because multiple monsters got sent to the Outskirts at the same time), the first would trigger the TL increase and empty the Outskirts, and the next two that were supposed to go out there would then be placed in the Outskirts, bringing it back up to 2.

    Deep one rising track

That's essentially it. I think they wanted universal wording in case of any future mechanics, but I don't think there are any else.

    Deep one rising track

No, because in such a case, a gate is not being prevented from opening. Seems ad hoc, but that's the ruling.
  18. Tibs

    Monsters from gate opening

    "B, N integers" lol
  19. Tibs

    Monsters from gate opening

But that doesn't work when you're using zero (expansion) boards.
  20. Tibs

    Monsters from gate opening

One monster spawns. For the gate/monsters/outskirts limits and number of monsters spawning, the number of investigators functions as four in your case: 6–2=4. The 2 is that you're using two expansion boards beyond the limit of one expansion board.

    Arkham Horror Statistics Reports

Arkham's getting about 5 per day, and Eldritch is getting about 6.5 per day. Those figures are on the first pages of the reports.

Julia: I have 81 results for you on the "Submissions" page, and there are 170 in my archived spreadsheet. Am I missing some?

    Arkham Horror Statistics Reports

Hi darksun. Truth be told, "contributors" is the toughest stat to calculate because I need to draw in values from the archived sheet. I think I've fixed it now, but no idea if it'll stay fixed and continue to update.

I would consider this a loss by Mythos depletion. The card just could have said "draw another Mythos card" and then, implicitly, the investigators would lose the game if there weren't any more.

    Multiple Midnights?

It's a particularly good rule because that way you don't have impotent midnight effects that were supposed to last for "until the next midnight" or however it's phrased.
