Tavern Maid Encounter Question
Toothless_Night_Fury replied to Grand Moff Terra's topic in Talisman Rules Questions
Sorry mrvankil you are completely wrong. If the Tavern Maid pours a character a drink, this is encountering a character. A character may either attack another character or use one of his special abilities against another character. It's in the Rulebook... -
Can you shatter the Amulet?
Toothless_Night_Fury replied to mrvankil's topic in Talisman Rules Questions
The Amulet cannot be shattered at all. The Amulet prevents all Spells from affecting that character including all his Objects & Followers... -
Misfortune. What rerolling really means
Toothless_Night_Fury replied to rimmer3's topic in Talisman Rules Questions
You'll never convince Lord Kalten otherwise. However he is completely wrong with his idea on Misfortune & Lucky Charm. Hopefully the FAQ can confirm this when it is finally updated! -
Oops. Will reword my earlier answer!

If the Druid lands on a Woods space with the Hex Spell and another character, the Druid may gain his full complement of Spells and then decide to encounter the space or the character in the space. If he decides to encounter the space, he immediately loses a life due to the Hex Spell. Otherwise he encounters the other character instead. If there was no other character on the Woods space when the Druid landed there, he could still gain his full complement of Spells BEFORE losing a life to the Hex Spell if he so chooses...

Misfortune. What rerolling really means
Toothless_Night_Fury replied to rimmer3's topic in Talisman Rules Questions
The Misfortune Spell takes effect as long as it isn't prevented with something like a Counterspell or Reflection Spell. A Lucky Charm cannot override the effects of Misfortune (this is an example of a Can Vs. Cannot rule). -

5 x 6 here! -
The Crypt Keeper in the Dungeon states that if you kill him: "Draw the top 5 Adventure Cards and take 1 Object of your choice." In this instance, you draw the top 5 Dungeon Cards instead because the Dungeon Rulebook confirms it. In regards to a character drawing the Sacrificial Stone in the Dragon Tower, it should work exactly the same as the Crypt Keeper in the Dungeon (Highland & City also) for consistency. If not, the Sacrificial Stone is pointless!!!

In the Dungeon, Highland & City Rulebooks, it is stated that: When characters in the Dungeon, Highland or City Region are instructed to draw cards, they always draw Dungeon, Highland or City Cards rather than Adventure Cards. This is true even when, for example, cards and special abilities specifically instruct the player to draw one or more "Adventure Cards". It is true that this rule does not appear in the Dragon Rulebook, however I'm pretty sure that you can apply this rule to the Dragon Tower Region as well. Remember in the Dragon Rulebook it gives an example about the Prophetess NOT being able to use her ability on Dragon Cards as the cards need to be faceup to use any ability or effect on them. This implies again that any cards and special abilities that refer to "Adventure Cards" in the Dragon Tower, apply to Dragon Cards instead! There is no reason why the Dragon Tower would work any differently from the Dungeon, Highland or City Regions in this regard. Therefore if you draw the Sacrificial Stone in the Dragon Tower, you immediately draw 1 Dragon Card from the Dragon King's deck instead of an Adventure Card. However if you draw the Sacrificial Stone on the main board (due to a dragon scale), you draw 1 Adventure Card instead... I personally believe this was accidentally left out of the Dragon Rulebook in error and that this is the way it should be played. An updated FAQ would indeed be most welcome!

If you are using the Dragon Tower, the Sacrificial Stone can be very deadly as you have to draw a card from the current Dragon King's deck. Remember when a character is in the Dragon Tower, effects that refer to Adventure Cards apply to Dragon Cards instead.

Battle Royale (Highland) Ending
Toothless_Night_Fury replied to Artaterxes's topic in Talisman Rules Questions
We do not allow evading on the Crown with Battle Royale... -
No. When you land on an space which is NOT a Draw card space, you encounter any cards there first AND then you follow the instructions on the space; this is confirmed in the main rulebook. Ell.
