  1. The game Magic Realm had a weather chart. Snow, blizzards, rain, summer, winter, etc
  2. Normally a character has the choice whether to encounter a dragon scale in a space, a character in a space, or the space itself. This choice is removed if the dragon scale matches the current Dragon King; in this case a character must encounter the dragon scale irrespective of whether or not he is a Lycanthrope. However if the dragon scale does not match the current Dragon King, a character who is a Lycanthrope must attack a character in a space instead of choosing to encounter either the dragon scale in the space or the space itself. Ell.
  3. Couldn't even start an online 3 player private game. Froze on 1 second. We all tried being host!
  4. Of course the game is In early release and we all expects bugs. It's not a criticism of nomad games at all. I just would like to play online without the game crashing etc
  5. Games joined or started = 40 online - sync issues on 30, crashed games 6, completed games 4 That's only 10% of games completed. I'll leave it up to the rest of you to form an opinion on how successful the online update has been so far. I love playing Talisman of course and can't wait to play a stable version of the game. Ell.
  6. The Pedlar is definitely moved irrespective of whether or not you buy anything! Ell.
  7. Unfortunately it has been a bit of a disaster. Sync issues and game crashing almost every online play. Apparently Nomad are releasing an update tomorrow to rectify the issues!!!
  8. When player A has taken the Spell of his choice from player B, player B can then cast Spell Call (if he still has it) which allows him to take the Mind Steal Spell instead of it being place on the Spell discard pile. To prevent Mind Steal from working, a character must cast either a Counterspell or Reflection Spell. You cannot counter Mind Steal with Spell Call; the Spell which has just been cast must take effect! Ell.
  9. Player A casts Mind Steal on player B and chooses one of his Spells to take. If player B still has Mind Steal, then he can cast it after the Mind Steal has ended!
  10. Well there are 3 bridges over the Storm River after all. We have always played the board game like this. Why did you think that they wouldn't count?! Ell.
  11. Characters are not permitted to take cards that they may not have. For example, if a character may not have Followers, he may not take one by casting the Mesmerism Spell on another character. This applies to the Merchant trading Objects with another character. The Merchant cannot trade an Object that the other player is not permitted to take!
  12. The Counterspell may have been worded badly (it didn't change from the 2nd edition wording). However Counterspell has to be cast before any die roll has occurred. You can't wait until the conclusion of the Spell to decide whether or not to cast it! The simple fact of the matter is that John Goodenough & the rest of the guys involved in the design process have given us the answer in how it should be handled. Do as you will but FFG & Nomad no doubt agree on this issue.
  13. Only choose from 1-6 in this scenario. Ell.
  14. You really ought to be using purple dice for fate, as that's the colour Talisman Prologue uses for fate. If dark & light fate are introduced into the game, I would suggest using purple for dark fate & orange for light fate. Ell.
  15. I think most of us agree that the Dragon Rules as written just spoil the whole expansion! Luckily there are several house rules available which resolve this issue. Ell.
  16. In my version of the Dragon Rulebook, I removed the restriction. Velhart send me your email addy please.
  17. There are many reasons why the Assassin has no effect over the Bow. 1) Bow die roll happens "at the start of battle", which is a vague wording that is safe to assume that's equal to "before you engage in battle". Battle has not begun, so the Assassin's ability is not working yet. 2) The Assassin ability says that the victim of assassinate "cannot roll a die to add to his Strength". Bow adds to the attack score (so does Bolster Spell). Besides any oddities and inconsistencies in old or new wordings, assassinate works on the attack roll only (= the die you roll in combat to add to your Strength and determine attack score). I disagree. See the other thread. Ask FFG for the answer. We are only speculating!
  18. Obviously the intent of the Assassin's ability is to sneak up unawares on his victim and stab him in the back. The Flail may be used 'at the start of battle' according to the text on the card, roll 1 die and it to your attack score. However when being assassinated, you cannot roll a die to add to your Strength. Even though the wording is different, it stands to reason that the very act of rolling the die for the Flail means that you are rolling a die to add to your Strength. Therefore in my opinion a character shoud not be able to use the Flail when being assassinated (Can vs. Cannot in the rulebook). Shoot a question off to FFG for clarification! Ell.
  19. Page 16 from the Dragon Rulebook: Discarding Dragon Tokens When dragon tokens are discarded, they are removed from the game and returned to the box. If every dragon token is taken from the pool, return all of the dragon tokens that were removed from the game (including any discarded dragon scales) back to the pool facedown and randomize them to form a new pool. Ell.
