  1. Past hour
  2. I don't play it myself, but I played against it at SOS for the first time, and it was really fun to fly against, with some top shenanigans.
  3. Agreed. It's actually quite a bit longer. Castle of the fox - port that never sleeps - sea to the east, as opposed to castle of the fox - castle of the sparrow - black crane estates - hida castle - earthquake fish bay to the south. Not necessarily it can still drop a reasonable distance. A reasonably gentle slope the whole way down to the sea is still perfectly navigable. presumably it's almost completely flat for most of its length, then drops off a shelf as it hits the gulleys indicated between Hida Castle and the bay. Given the name, I guess they're considered part of the Kaiu Wall. So they'd be protecting to the south. Yes. Just because the river is all-but unnavigable (or even completely so!) to conventional boats isn't a reason to leave a hole in the fortifications where inhuman oni and the dead are concerned. Beware the risk of attack by daemonic oni-salmon..... If I follow it, it looks something like this: fox castle - (east) - relatively short but continuous gentle slope - sea l (south) l long, near enough flat riverbed l clear water village l kaiu wave wall l short sequence of rapids and falls dropping a distance equivalent to the eastern route in a relatively few miles l earthquake fish bay
  4. For now, for each game, I play my pathfinder with : Pao, Blaster Config, Duck'n'Cover, Emergency Stim and Long Range comlink. The more I think about it, the more I want to get rid of Blaster config. the WW at range 1-3 is imo sufficient enough for the role they are filling in my armies, and when I infiltrate them, they oftenly either run a lot (so no shooting) or dodge a lot (so no shooting either). My favorite plays with infiltrate pathfinder is : first turn : 1-pip specialist card (for -1 order to the opposing army), so I can activate them, dodge and either run or activate an objective (like Hydrovaporizer). And spam suppress on them asap. Eventually activating Emergency stim second turn : 3-pip Jyn card. So they can't flee, and can activate to either play objective or just dodge and run. For now, the only commander who can "disturb" this plan is Palpatine (with "Give in to your anger").
  5. There was a time I loaded up five VT Decimators in a Rapid Launch Bay ISD-I with Expanded Hangars. The idea was to run up and punch with Flight commanders to unload all this nastiness and follow up with the ISD blast. I landed in the side arc of a Nebulon and wasn't able to kill it even after activating all 5. I don't think my ISD could do it either out of the side arc. It kinda deflates once you realize it's not as good at doing that without Bomber. So... not sure it qualifies as the best fighter in my book. As for the TIE/LN being the best... is it really the case when you depend on Sloane in order to make it work (And hide behind rocks, And avoid 2-Die AA flack, And if you must have alpha strike...)? What's the criteria for best fighter? Something that can stand on its own regardless of commander and perform best in all situations? That's how I approached it, TIEs require too much in their favor for me to consider them the best.

    New Epic

I realise that as well. That's why my my post went on to mention that I actually have those alternatively schemed ships that you mention ( the tie/ln anyways ). I think my point was perhaps similar to what you just mentioned; making them a little more accessible rather than bundling them with a huge. So Imperial ( tie fighter and tie adv ) and Scum ( scyck and z-95 ) have new paints in 2.0., but so far rebels have kept all the same... I think so far, unless I missed something.
  7. The bottom island is almost certainly purely crab lands since the only settlement on it listed is friendly traveller village. The island above it definitely has both crane and crab lands on it - the Black Crane estates are the Yasuki 'capital', but the southeastern tip is the Temple of the Morning Sun - Asahina lands - and the northeastern is the Port That Never Sleeps, a crane seaport that's mostly controlled by the Daidoji Trading Council. Whilst there's clearly a border between clan domains on the island it must run roughly north-south, not east-west. The Black Crane Estates are on the river. The Bay itself looks to be pretty much a crab pond. The Western Bank of the river looks like it has a fair number of minor clans - the sparrow and fox castles are definitely supposed to be there. Indeed. Emerald Empire talks about this at length, I believe...
  8. Perfectly valid for dealing with B1's. I suspect ion grenades would get more mileage against multi-wound models like destroyer droids or tanks. Frag grenades will still be awesome tho'.
  9. Exactly. Hence why I write which dial is which is really obvious bright ink.
  10. Seems you are right. While the escape velocity from earth's surface is 11.2 km/s, at 70000 km from the earth's center it's something around 3.4 km/s according to my calculation.
  11. Honestly we don't know what Lincoln would have done after the civil war had he lived. He might have set his emergency powers aside and retired in a few years. Or he might have kept the emergency powers in place either out of lust for power or an honest belief that he needed them to fufill his duty. Do you really think many people in the Galactic Republic thought Palpatine was out for absolute power before his We are now the Empire speech? And to be blunt I find the idea that many of the things that were considered to be acts of rebellion, providing aid and comfort to the enemy, treason, or some combination of the above during the civil war and were treated as crimes disturbing. Especially since many people view Lincoln as a champion of freedom. True champions of freedom don't allow those kinds of things on their watch.
  12. Why would I take ion grenades and disable a unit when I can kill them with frags?
  13. From what I can tell, there is 1 Hill Troll 3 Wights 3 Hungry Wargs 3 Orc Marauders 3 Orc Hunters 6 Goblin Scouts 6 Ruffians In the core box, as well as the six hero miniatures: Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Bilbo, Beravor, Elena Then there is the Villains of Eriador expansion which contain three named enemies.
  14. @meffo you are right. It is my personal oppinion. I statet eralier that we can't know for sure because we have co tradicting rules in the RRG now. If you read the first post of the actual FAQ thread they state that you should only ask a question if it is not answered by the rules. So rewind to when yhis question was asked. Does a Proximity mjne detonate when placed under a ship. It is not covered by the Overlapping section. But in the Device section it clearly states that when a device is placed overlapping a ship it is placed under it. Period. This is a clear answer to what happens when a device opverlaps a ship when placed. But it does not address mines specifically. But the next point does. If a devce that detonates is placed under more that one ship it detonates immediately. So the rules actually did answer the question, and it should never have been sent. But it was, and someone answered it with an answer that contradicts the rules. For what it is worth I actually think that placing any object uder a ship should count as the ship overlapping it. This would be the most consistent way to handle all objects that are dropped or launched. I would just like the RRG to be updated to reflect this.

This Han is broken af and massive NPE for me. Hope they fix it asap. Just wanted to add my 3 cents Move along, move along.
  16. I like Serissu and Genesis Red, both with Tractor Beams and with lower Ini on 3 other ships. They could be a little cheaper, like 1-3 points, but they are good. I like playing Scyks in 2.0.
  17. (As always, I apologize if this has been asked, but I looked and could not find the answer.) Can you increase the number of orders issued to corps units by daisy-chaining "Coordinate: Emplacement Trooper" with "Comms Relay?" Let's say, hypothetically, I build a list with Luke, five Rebel Veterans, and three Laser Cannon Teams with Comms Relay. Would I be able to play "My Ally is the Force" and issue an order to all five Rebel Veterans, thus giving all five of them an order token and two dodge tokens? The way it looks to me is that you can loop issuing an order to a Rebel Veteran, thus issuing a free order token to an emplacement trooper, and then using comms relay to issue that order to another Rebel Veteran (starting the process over).
  18. Mirumoto Daishō only cares about which number you select on your dial when you’re doing your initial honor bid. Using card abilities to alter the value on your dial (or change the bid your dial on your dial) after the fact aren’t affected. [Tyler Parrott, Apr 16 2019]
  19. Question sent to Tyler: You've previously answered that Iaijutsu Master (and I would assume other such Reactions) can change the bid value to 1 or 5. Is this because the constant ability on the Daisho (...cannot bid 1 or 5...) falls under the the dot point under Honor in the RRG? If a card ability references a player's honor bid, the ability is referencing the current setting on the player's honor dial. Does this mean that Ide Negotiator cannot be used to change the bid to 1 or 5? (change the bid on your dial to a value 1 higher or lower than its current value) What about Akodo Kage, when you bid 1 or 5, and control the Daisho? (set that opponent's honor dial to be equal to yours)
  20. B1's seem like they're weak to everything, but have the advantage of being able to bring lots of them. One of your units gets ion? You still have 5 more. With droids and vehicles gaining prominence I wouldn't be surprised to see more ion, but I'm not sure that players would try to stick ion weapons to absolutely every unit.

    New Epic

I realise that, although I would point out not bundling them with expensive huge ships for a somewhat niche alternative format makes them much more accessible. But the point still stands that FFG did exactly what Ambigatos suggested they should have!

That’s an age old discussion, though. I see what you’re saying but with a worlds ticket in the line (and dangling just out of reach) I feel I need to maximise my chance of success.
  23. Asami calls the Lion on the pathetic lie that she isn't a hostage, and does so when his best courtier isn't present and after spending her captivity forming good relations with the other courtiers present by allowing them more grace and ease than the spartan court normally afforded. Had the Lion been honest about the reason for the length of her stay, that option wouldn't have been available. How awkward for them. As for Kuzunobu... that wasn't a matter of "other, more courteous samurai being too embarrassed to sink to the same level." That was tossing some status into Kage's rude behavior toward the Fox, and then making it abundantly plain that his side of the argument was backed by a superior duelist. Which is Crane Courtly Bullying 101, and clearly easier to get away with when someone's talking out of his rear to a bunch of Minor Clanners. Neither is in any way out of character for the Crane. Opinion is divided on the subject. In Asami's case, a rather straight-laced fellow is caught offguard and cedes the point rather than making his situation worse. Or do we really want to get into Asami's protracted stay when what's going on isn't a war by the legal standards of Rokugan? In Kuzunobu's, an attempt at conversational bullying is met with the rules of etiquette some idiot back at the dawn of the Empire let the Crane write.
  24. I'd say that's somewhere on the scale between Ashigaru and Lacquered armour. Since the specific item is a high-craftsmanship relic, Lacquered. It's meant to be something you'd want to use if you can ever find the thing, after all. Interested what you intend Yoshi's self-ascribed title as meaning. Looking up the word 'Kazi' comes back with several meanings, from Fire, to Rudder, to Housework... Absolutely fine. A Ronin 'family' is hardly unheard of - the Yotsu and Kaeru might be the 'official' ronin families, but even if you don't have a family name, the Clans will recognise the value of someone who's a true son of their mother and father. And yes, that still wouldn't stop them giving either parent or child the cruddy or illegal jobs. They are ronin, after all, even if they're a better class of mercenary who actually do stick to their word once they've taken your money. I take it that your father only took service as a Ronin at the wall - the whole twenty-goblin-winter thing would have given him the opportunity to earn the Hida family name if one had been declared and he'd been so inclined (although if he'd not survived his first season on the wall, however honourable the death, maybe he never got the chance) Looks good so far. Again, you need to pick a status - as a 'pure' ronin, I would probably suggest one on the lower end of things, but you're free to pick as you see fit. Rather ironically, we've got three ronin, who have three different reasons for being in the region, which line up with the three reasons I put in the flavour text I wrote for the opening of the campaign a couple of days back. Go figure.
