I worked up a set of rules that fit within the framework of FFGSWRPG without giving the parts of my brain formatted by an intro econ course seizures, but mentioning that was literally the straw that broke the camel's back and made The Skeptic rotate out of the GM's spot at the end of the session... so from here on out I hold my nose and pretend the economics as written don't offend my sensibilities. I'm hoping to find an "official" detail here or there to help...
  3. You are looking at it backwards. That is the way a player buys as rare item. Elevated rarity would make it easier to sell and make it easier to command a higher price for the goods.
  4. The commerce rules are bad. Really bad. This game is not Traveller, or even D6 Star Wars. If you are looking at doing commerce for profit, I suggest looking into another game's rules for such and porting them over.
  5. Range control. Ties into understanding initiative. Ruining an opponent’s alpha attempt by maintaining range 3 vs their low initiative VTG and then wiping it from the board before it ever double taps is not difficult if you’re planning it out from deployment and take advantage of early repositions. What’s most difficult for me is getting distracted by opponent’s gimmicks and flying myself into a figurative corner instead of maintaining a sound, fundamental strategy. “Oh Strikers with Seismics? I better jerk around the board edge for 3 rounds instead of just wiping it off the board before I even see it’s backside.”
  6. You don't need to be formally trained by a Jedi or even possess access to genuine Jedi materials to emulate the path of a Jedi. Career names are just fluff, and the Jedi career and specializations could just as easily represent a Sith or a self-trained savant.
  7. So, am I reading the commerce rules correctly? It looks to me as though taking goods to a place where they're hard to get (elevated Rarity) makes it harder to find a buyer/a good price, because of the increased difficulty on the skill check... or is the location modifier not used for this purpose (only the base Rarity of the item)? A citation would be very helpful when I face skepticism. Thanks.
  8. I have told my players that all of the Star Wars materials we have are in-universe children's entertainment written about historical events centuries (or more) in the past. The accuracy of the materials varies widely, but they are as historically accurate as movies today that are "based on a true story" but are not necessarily true in every way (helicopter sabers were an artistic liberty and nobody believes that a spinning lightsaber really allowed flight). Note that the idea that history is written by the winners comes up a lot, and the good guys in my settings are not as shiney as they appear in the kids' tales. What goes on in the game is instead the true stories of what happened, even if they never made it into the children's programming.

  10. Flying higher initiative arc dodgers that are actually super efficient (see mostly empire; some rebels qualify) Because initiative killing is ******* easy Flying lower initiative against higher initiative is difficult

  12. Oddly enough, Star Trek had the Deltans, an empathic species with pheromones and a whole culture of expression through sex, yet that species also routinely took on vows of celibacy when interacting with other species of the Federation in order to avoid the spank factor.
  13. So can Boba. Granted, he's significantly more expensive, regardless though, is that broken, or simply really good and just too cheap right now? In my opinion it's closer to the latter rather than the former.
  14. Paint him to match the others then. If you want him to match the rest of your team than just do it. If you need an answer that fits with canon its well established that Rebels used a large variety of uniforms from different sources and seldom had a coherent look. Just say he traded in his brawn and yellow uniform for a green one. No big deal.
  15. Braylen can get double mods on offense and rerolls on defense even when he bumps, so there’s that..
  16. If the aces can manage to draw the beef list away from its corner, then well flown aces absolutly can handle the matchup. It becomes more of an issue when the beef player crab-walks along the board edge and denies the ace player a flank. Then the aces have a very uphill battle on their hands. I don't think there is a major NPE or rules breaking in the list. I think the only issue is that at current price points, the Rebel Beef player doesn't seem to have many hard choices in list building. They get to have high hit points, excellent action effeciency, high initative with choices for a medium base low initative blocker, damage spread, and lots of red dice with built in mods. If they had to make difficult choices about which of those elements they wanted to include, I think the archetype could still be solid without being such an obviously "correct" choice to take to a tournament. I don't want to see this archetype disappear. I just think that some of the standard elements of these lists need some small adjustments.
  17. @LTD @Matt3412 CP9-J: Unfortunately we are unable to do all the things we want to do, which involves defense of the "A" system and elimination of the Bug menace, among other things. We believe the bugs to be the highest priority for elimination, and defense of our current holdings to be of relatively equal weight. [Confused Wookie howling] CP9-J: Yes, yes, I am getting to that. We request from BOTH sides a moratorium on fighting for at least a turn, so that we can determine our best course of action with regards to the "A" question. As you may have noticed, 4 out of the 5 bug hideouts are currently within striking distance of our territory. This is concerning to us for exactly the reasons you would expect. @GhostofNobodyInParticular CP9-J: Bad Luck with bug hunting. I hope you find H2 to your liking. If you can hit H1 this turn, please feel free to hold on to my ship for another turn. If not, return to G1.

  20. Thanks you Norsehound for your help. Final cost for now will be 63 (same difference as between Support and Escort) making it higher then Pelta and same cost as Torpedo MC30. Maybe the price difference will cut at the end to choose Escort if you need those few points to finish your fleet.   22. Not sure which edition is the current one, but the last one I got was 4th Edition by AEG. Now I see that FFG has it. Is this the current edition? How different is the FFG edition compared to 4th Edition? I remember playing L5R back when it was 1st Edition way back in the late 90's...good times Doug
