Was wondering about discarded search cards between encounters, e.g. Secret Room, Treasure Chest, and cards discarded after the use of Appraisal.  Do they get shuffled back into the deck between encounters or are the permanently discarded until the start of an entirely new quest? Is it possible for the heroes to get two treasure chests/Secret Rooms over the course of two encounters?

Thanks.

The Search deck is only shuffled between quests. Not between encounters.

Thanks for the reply.  What if there was a freak occurrence where you run out of Search cards with search tokens remaining?  Are the heroes out of luck or do you shuffle in the discards and start a new deck?

Your question has been adressed (and posted) in the "Adam sez" thread on BGG :

(Link : http://boardgamegeek...312569#10312569)

Q: If the item search deck is depleted, do we simply reshuffle the discarded item cards to draw from? Such as discarded cards from appraise and any resolved "nothing" or "treasure chest" cards?

A: The Search deck is reshuffled at the end of every quest. It is not reshuffled during a quest.
