Hey Guys!

Last Wednesday the first ever GGs Burwood Call of Cthulhu league kicked off, and 7 intrepid investigators (or bad guy summoners, you be the judge) ventured into the mirky depths of the unknown to solve the mysteries of the world. After 4 rounds, Leslie La stood tall and undefeated, going 4-0. Brad, who learnt the game 3 minutes before the league kicked off, went 3-1 to finish second, with Alex and Jason going 2-1-1 to finish equal third. Standings below

Leslie 1 4 5
Brad 1 3 4
Alex 1 2.5 3.5
Jason 1 2.5 3.5
Daniel 1 2 3
Kieren 1 2 3
Eliza 1 1 2

It was a fun night. I went bad and still had a great time, its a cool game. We're playing again next Wednesday from 6.30pm. Its just $7 to play with weekly and overall prizes up for grabs. As Brad showed, its easy to learn, if you want to try cruise in, we'll give you a run through and lend you a deck.

See ya then!

Hey Investigators!

Last night was week 2 of the Call of Cthulhu LCG league, and once again Leslie La went 4-0 to remain undefeated! New leagee Neil showed he has what it takes to NOT go insane by finishing second with 3-1, with a bunch of people equal third on 2-2. More omprtantly, a great time was had by all, and we finished around 9.30pm!

Standings below

Leslie 1 4 4 9
Alex 1 2.5 1 2 6.5
Kieren 1 2 2 5
Jason 1 2.5 1 4.5
Brad 1 3 4
Daniel 1 2 1 4
Eliza 1 1 2 4
Neil 3 3

Call of Cthulhu is heaps of fun. Its easy to get into and cool people are playing it. The Nationals Championships are coming Dec 9th, so its got some cool events on the way, but mainly its just FUN

We're playing again next Wednesday night at 6.30pm. Its $7 for league play, 4 rounds with nightly and overall league prizes up for grabs. Plenty of spare decks around if you want to have a try, drop in for a demo.

Cheers

Hey Investigators,

9 budding investigators swooped down on the dodgy museum last night to investigate strange going ons, and after 4 rounds of story solving first time player Jay went 3 wins and a draw to take out the night. Jay learnt the game 5 minutes before we started, and with a borrowed a deck from Jason crushed us! Another new player. Patrick, did great work to finish second (using a deck made up of Leslies spare cards) with Alex and Jason finishing equal third. STandings are below

Leslie 1 4  4 1 2       12
Alex 1 2.5 1 2  3       9.5
Jason 1 2.5  1 1 3       8.5
Daniel 1 2  1  2.5       6.5
Kieren 1 2  2  1       6
Eliza 1 1  2  1       5
Brad 1 3           4
Neil    3  1       4
Jay       3.5       3.5
Patrick      3       3

Leslie and Jason also got a bonus point each for bringing new players (Patrick and Jay respectively). We play each Wednesday night at 6.30pm, and its heaps of fun. Its just $7 to play, with that money going to weekly and overall league prizes, including weekly and overall lucky door prizes. GGs have restocks of core sets and deluxe next week, and Nationals is in 2 weekends time (Dec 9th). The prizes are at GGs Burwood now, they are sweet, next time you're in check them out!

Cheers

Hey Investigators!

With the awesomeness of Nationals yesterday its easy to overlook the wonderful Wednesday night regular league shenanigans, and this week I did! But I got it back now, Nationals runner up Leslie and top 8 Nats player Jason both went 3-1 to share the nightly win, with Jason picking up a bonus point for bringing along new player and A Game of Thrones guru Nathan M (who went 3-1 also!). Standings below

Leslie 1 4 4 1 2 3 15
Jason 1 2.5 1 1 3 1 3 12.5
Alex 1 2.5 1 2 3 2 11.5
Kieren 1 2 2 1 2 8
Daniel 1 2 1 2.5 1 7.5
Neil 3 1 3 7
Eliza 1 1 2 1 1 6
Patrick 3 2 5
Brad 1 3 4
Jay 3.5 3.5
Nathan 3 3

Players drop their worst weeks result. We play each Wednesday at 6.30pm. Its just $7 to play with weekly and overall league prizes up for grabs, and more importantly, its a great game thats easy to get into.

If you'd like a demo, cruise in on Wednesday evening, someone will show you how to play, and even lend you a deck if you'd like to try your hand in the league.

And try to stay away from that thing that lives under the porch…

Cheers

Hey Investigators,

The first ever Burwood Call of Cthulhu league has just 1 week to run, and after 5 awesome weeks 1 man, Leslie La, calling on the mysterious but naughty powers of Cthulhu and Hastur, has a solid lead over Alex, who calls on powers from…all over. The final round is tomorrow (Wednesday) night. Who will be the first ever league champ? Who will win the lucky door prize? Who will crush hopes and dreams? COme to Burwood tomorrow night and find out! Standings below

Leslie 1 4 4 1 2 3 3 18
Alex 1 2.5 1 2 3 2 3 14.5
Jason 1 2.5 1 1 3 1 3 1 13.5
Neil 3 1 3 0 3 10
Daniel 1 2 1 2.5 1 2 9.5
Kieren 1 2 2 1 2 8
Patrick 3 2 2 7
Eliza 1 1 2 1 1 0 6
Brad 1 3 1 5
Nathan 3 2 5
Troy 1 3 4
Jay 3.5 3.5
Players drop their worst weeks score, overall prizes and lucky door prize will be awarded tomorrow night

We play every Wednesday night (giving Boxing Day a miss) at 6.30pm. This game is fantastic. Great mix of affiliations, great mechanics, and because its a living card game you don't have to spend a fortune on hard to get rares to be competitive, you just buy the pack with the playset of cards you want!

If you'd like to try, cruise in tomorrow night and someone will show you how its done and lend you a deck. It is terrific

Hey Investigators!

Sorry for the delay. The final week of the first league finished just before Xmas, and after 6 fun filled, awesome rounds of Cthulhu league National runner up Leslie La was our first ever champion! Great work Leslie, you played well. ALex came in a noble second, whilst the groups ladies man Jason Conlon finished a gallant third. Nathan Morgan finished the league going 4-0, and doing it with just the Order of the Silver Twilight deluxe pack! Great work Nathan. Standings below, including the dropped worst week

Leslie 1 4 4 1 2 3 3 2 20 -2 18
Alex 1 2.5 1 2 3 2 3 3 17.5 -2 15.5
Jason 1 2.5 1 1 3 1 3 1 1 14.5 -1 13.5
Neil 3 1 3 0 3 2 12 0 12
Daniel 1 2 1 2.5 1 2 2 11.5 -1 10.5
Patrick 3 2 2 3 10 0 10

Brad 1 3 1 5 0 5
Troy 1 3 1 5 0 5
Jay 3.5 3.5 0 3.5
Harry 1 2 3 0 3
Call of Cthulhu LCG is awesome. Next league starts January 9th, it'll run for 6 weeks with players dropping their worst weeks score. You also get a bonus point each time you bring a new player to the league. Weekly and overall prizes up for grabs, but more importantly a fun weekly series with cool people is on offer. If you want to try, cruise in any Wednesday, someone will give you a demo, and lend you a deck to play.

See you all next Wednesday!

Thanks!

I can't give you deck content, as we don't ask for lists (its a league after all, and we're a new community). However, if you join our FB page at https://www.facebook...31511770271912/ most of the players check in there, if you ask nice they may obligde

Good luck

No special rules, except that we're using the core set story cards as not everyone has a copy of the 2011 ones from Shifting Sands.  We play four rounds of one-on-one games each league night, scoring a point for each win.  We've been getting a pretty decent turn out, too, and most nights we seem to have at least one more player joining in which has been great.  Such a fun game!
