bit weird?

Just looking at Vadersson's spreadhseet and noticed that (apart from pilot skill, obviously), generally all ship stats are equal for each ship type, regardless of pilot… is it just me this seemed counterintuitive to?

You would think that Luke and Darth Vader using the force may be slightly better at intuitively knowing where the enemy will be firing and so have a higher evade skill than, say a rookie x-wing pilot or Tie/Fi pilot….

With Luke, this is comewhat accounted for by his static ability to evade any focus rolls and I suppose his ability to bullseye womp rats in a t-16 is kind of covered by his marksmanship ability…

but with Vader there doesnt seem to be the same static boost…

That's because Vader gets this huge dynamic boost of his, with two actions

I think the ship stats are really all about how good the ship is at maneuverability and acceleration, just like the maneuver dials. So a ship with a stronger main engine, or stronger guns, would get an advantage - but not one with a better pilot. I fully expect the Millenium Falcon to have better stats than an unmodified YT-1300.


Imperials: 13 TIE Fighter, 5 TIE Advanced, 15 TIE Interceptor, 4 Slave I, 6 TIE Bomber, 5 Lambda Shuttle, 3 TIE Defender, 4 TIE Phantom

Rebels: 1 Tantive IV, 1 Rebel Transport, 7 X-Wing, 5 Y-Wing, 4 YT-1300, 6 A-Wing, 5 B-Wing, 5 HWK-290, 6 Z-95, 3 E-Wing

 The fact that Vader is a better pilot is included in his 9 piloting skill.  Only pilot in the game as good is Wedge.  Vader's ability to take two actions in the game is in my opinion the best ability in the game.


Putting an end to this distructive conflict and bringing order to the galaxy.

I'm curious about this… 2 actions is hot, don't get me wrong, but I've found that static, passive abilities get more use and I've found them more effective. I find that Vader can lose those 2 actions pretty easily but Luke and Wedge's abilities can't be shut off (currently).  I think I can see that Vader's power will increase as the game develops since they will constantly introduce new elite pilot Actions.  Maybe I'm not using him effectively?

Passive abilities just are not as good as actions.  For example, Wedge can reduce defense dice by one.  That sounds pretty good, but it basically reudces the number of agility successes by 1/4 since there are only 2 successes on the D8 agility dice.
