thanks to forum i lost all my post when i was closed to finish it   -_-

Sorry but this one will be quickest :

Any player can check the forum for a specific rules and find : questions from players + answer from members + some clarifications by others persons and sometimes others post explain all is wrong because Damon said another thing ! How a newcommer can't not be lost?

So an independant place to find all informations about cards should be great

- a wiki is better than post in forum because we can use summary (in forum too but it's less confortable)

- each card can be explain in an unique article with FFG FAQ (version number of the FAQ) + explanation from forum + EXEMPLES (and all information clear and without any mistake)

It may be usefull to add some tiny clarification like this:
like dreamland fanatic : you can put ALL copies from your hand to resolve the response : "when an opponent character leave play".

This work can't be done by only 1 guy so we need a team :
1)Writers to do the big job to write complete article (hidden for public)
2)Reader to check ,to valid and make article visible for public
3)Rulers to ask for weird rules AND contact FFG when it's hard to know

So, it seams zephyr can take Writer task, as me
Penfold has a very good understanding of rules and how a card mechanics work (but i understand you don't have many time), i have many clarifications in Cenacle Cthonien too
Yipe seams to have a good contact with Damon and he posted tons of clarifications.
I'm sure others members are strong in understanding rules and have plenty of example they had in game for special tricks (like dreamland fanatic)

So the best plan should be to regroup all members with time/skill/passion to do this and enjoy to be part of this group.
The big part (and the most important) is to start the project include some cards and time by time players will join because they 'll understand the interest of this wiki and wanted to share their experience to help !

So feel free to post to join the group by present you and tell wich part (1,2,3) you're good and who's checking to make the first move with a wiki (or better solution ? )

Not to be nationalistic, but the main writer or editor should be someone who writes in English very well.

I disagree. He needs to write rule clarification not a poem. If someone fixes his style its not a problem it wasn't perfect. The goal is to have clear rules not poems. If writers english is good enough not to confuse reader whats the problem?

And I tried wiki - you will basically need to copy all card information site like cardDB has. It makes little sense doing it all - its done already and it is a huge work to get all card information in a readable way. Id rather cooperate with cardgameDB because they have good tools already, including really nice search + card links with preview. The only thing this project needs is one comment editable by all involved in the project. Maybe some [Ruling] button if text is too big to just show in comments.

zephyr i don't understand very well

we don't need to copy and paste all cards informations oO, we need to have a link for cards with some complex mechanics or understanding + some tricks to know… like how play ulthar cats

if cardgame db can make a kind of alphanumeric search, why not, but i'm not sure it's something he'll do.
And something i think is better it's a kind of "article" with ONLY informations about cards and not blablabla like a forum.

That's why a wiki seams better than forum to do that, but as i said i just propose and it's because you make the first move talking about the need of rules and clarification i made this propostion ..

Use scenario:

Paste http://www.cardgamedb.com/ into adress bar

Click "Search Cards" below the black belt on top of the page.

Click CoC card.

Write card name, or other information to find it.

Click card you want details.

Read comment that might clear things up.

Reading article about cards without their text on screen is really hard if you don't know them already. Links with all cards information are really great.

If there is a way to make wiki work good its not like i hate wikis or something. My initial idea was wiki, but it turned out i would need to set up a database and its kind of pointless when there are good ones.

If you think wiki will work set up a prototype version and see how it goes. Make a few cards explanations and see how convinient to use it is for writer and reader. In my experience cardDB comments are great.

The problem is that I have to read every other post of yours two or three times to understand what you are talking about. You are saying the FAQ is so complicated that you have to read an entry several times to understand what it is saying… where is the improvement?

Trust me, if the wiki/cgdb entries are written the way your posts are they will NOT be making things easier for people to read. Trust me in this. I may be the only one who isn't worried about being considered an ******* to say it, but I am almost certainly not the only one who is thinking this. Get yourself a good editor.

I'm not saying my style is good. I tend to think and write in a chaotic way. I edit posts a lot fixing typhos, changing word order, etc I really hate this forum engine as it banns me from fixing my posts by disabling edit and makes it harder to fix spelling as right click that should be dictionary suggestions is a crappy menu with "copy, cup paste" - options that are standard anyway.

If my style is hard to read than sure - someone else needs to write those, or edit my response so its more readable. But when i try to educate i think i use a different style and cardgameDB text box don't hate me as this forum engine does. (srsly, free stuff like phpBB does it better)

Still i do think my approach for explaining is good, i just don't know the rules as much as i would want to so fail when trying to explain them.

Are my post under cardDB card entries also unreadable, if so i'd like to fix them.
