Just thought I'd share a random little house rule I introduced into our Only War Game. I poached the rough idea from John Wick's Aegis Project.
We let the squad roll Fate Points as normal and combine them into a central pool from which all members of the IG squad can draw.
The pool increases when players do things for the squad e.g. sacrifice themselves for the greater good.
This allows players who really need it access to a greater Fate point pool. I balanced this out by removing plot points when a member takes an action to the detriment for the squad as whole.
This rewards players working with together and stops the anti social behaviour you get from that player just just has to try and screw the other players/characters over just because they can.
We also only allow guard characters to combine Fate Points like that, support characters keep and use their own fate points. Fluff wise it reinforces the us vs them mentality. The support characters are usually so different to the guard characters and reinforces that idea.
EDIT: Just noticed the topic would fit better in Only War Beta --> Game Mechanics section. Sorry Please move the topic if I posted in the wrong area.
