how does a STC look like. does anyone know? and what about a stc pattern? if you want your players to find one is it just in an old cogitator in some secret lair?

An STC library, when intact, should like your standard high-scifi computer terminal, maybe with crystalline data-arks nearby, sort of like

this;

 An STC-printout can be almost anything, from hardcopy printouts preserved in a stasis cage to platinum discs designed for a playback device not seen in the Imperium in millenia.

I really wish that the Fantasy Flight Games forums had spoiler tags similar to what other forums have, anyhow………

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

In the first Gaunt's Ghosts novel they discover an STC towards the end of the novel.

END SPOILER!!!!!

Technically they discover a fabricator, which Gaunt assumes is DAoT. An STC is an intelligent blueprinting device; input your request for a thing you want, and it provides you with a series of blueprints to make that thing based on current resource availability and infrastructure.
