Hi,

That's absolutely great! I was thinking today that the FAQ was a little old now and was hoping for an update.

May I suggest that you also incorporate the questions that were already answered by Kevin Williamson in the previous versions of the forum, and that were compiled in this thread: http://www.fantasyfl...s/list/114.page

Especially, Kevin answered a question about monster combat that overrides one of the entries of the FAQ v1.2 (and the one copied in Kingsport expansion).

But I am sure you'll get many new questions too!

How does Charlie Kane work? Does he:

  • Collect allies that would otherwise be removed from the game? If so, can he collect the allies that are removed from the game during setup?
  • Collect allies from outside the game when he encounters an event that would normally give him access to one? If so, can he collect any ally from Ma's Boarding House?

The bonus ally he gets at the start of the game, is it:

  • Randomly drawn from the 11 allies in play.
  • Randomly drawn from all of the allies.
  • Randomly drawn from his choice of the pile of 11 and the pile of removed allies.

1) If Lily Chen moves her slider more than one space, does that allow her to heal more than one point?

If so, doesn't this still make her immune to certain AOs under certain conditions?

By extension, should the two allies from Kingsport which are exhaust-to-heal say "discard when the AO awakens" to avoid similar conditions?

 

2) How does Martial Arts work in relation to:

  • Marie Lambeau's third eye ability
  • The Axe or Gladius of Carcosa when it is equipped in only one hand

 

3) What does the Dark Druid's movement ability mean, exactly?

Does the DD's ability activate if it moves on a black path, or if its movement symbol is shown towards black?

What does "all other monsters move on black" mean? Does that mean they move one space in the black direction, or does that mean they move as if their symbols were drawn in black?

Does the Dark Druid's ability move open Rifts?

4) Can a delayed investigator in an OW cast Find Gate? Can an investigator who entered the OW during the movement phase because of the Nightgaunt's combat ability immediately cast Find Gate and return to Arkham, receiving 0 OW encounters? Can an investigator with the White Ship use this same tactic?

5) Can the White Ship or Great Seal be traded between investigators? Are they counted towards an unconscious/insane penalty?

6) If a special ability activates on the drawing of a mythos card (such as Ghroth's Mystic ability), does it activate before any other part of the mythos card, or does it activate before the card's special text? Does such an ability activate by Mythos cards that are drawn for ancillary information (such as to find a gate location for a new Servant of Glaaki)?

7) What happens to Hypnos cards at the end of a turn? Are the cards only supposed to last for 26 turns?

8) What happens to the Cultists if you're playing a game of Abhoth with the Tulzscha herald?

9) When drawing a Cultist at the start of the game for the Tulzscha herald, must it be a regular cultist, or can it be a goat/cultist (from BGotW expansion)

10) Do you remove all such BGotW goat-cultists from the cup during a game against Abhoth?

11) When drawing monsters during a monster surge with the Black Goat herald, do you draw the non-hex monsters first? Also, I assume that hex monsters get returned to the Hex cup?

12) What happens if you're supposed to draw a monster from each of the two cups during a new gate, but there are none left in one cup, but not the other?

13) If you're using the Black Goat herald in a 5+ player game, how many monsters are supposed to come out of each gate? How many are hexagon monsters?

More as I think of them...

 How does spending monster trophies work? Do you use the toughness of the monster at the time of defeat or can it be modified during the game.

For example you defeated a cultist and collected it as a trophy (1 toughness) later the Great Ritual is drawn (increasing cultist toughness by 2) so would this effect you cultist trophy or only none trophy cultist?

No need, I've got them here, with some questions removed/revised:

 

Major Questions:
What happens when a monster with the Elusive ability Surprises you?

Does Rex Murphy lose stamina for having his Curse when the Dark Pharaoh is the herald? What about investigators on the 1st turn of having a Curse (when they don't roll)?

An encounter at the Silver Twilight Lodge forces you to have an encounter at the City of the Great Race, rewarding you with a membership and a clue token if "you passed a test or defeated a monster encountered there." Does "test" mean "skill check"?

A General Store encounter offers all investigators to give the player having the encounter any amount of money to "purchase a single Common Item of his or her choice at list price." Is that his or her choice from the deck, or from some certain number drawn off the top? In the latter, can Ashcan Pete buy from the bottom?

The encounter also says you hand off the item when you enter the same location as the player who requested it. Is that literally a "location," or is it any space?

Can you "discard all of your money to become blessed" if you have no money?

A Bank encounter says "you may trade in monster and gate trophies to be Blessed as described at the Church" or be Blessed for free if you have certain items. Can you bless another investigator instead, as that is described as part of the Church's special ability? If Tsathoggua is the Ancient One, are you prevented from doing one or both actions regardless of meeting the requirements?

Does Kate Winthrop's ability prevent encountering the Mi-Go at the Science Building or the God of the Bloody Tongue in the Other World encounter?

Does Kate Winthrop's ability prevent "a monster appears" encounters while in the Other World?

Does Kate Winthrop's ability prevent a gate burst from removing a seal?

Are Epic Battle cards meant to be used when fighting an Ancient One as the result of a dual-colored gate encounter?

Are other effects related to the Ancient One, such as Sealing the Beast's Power mission and Joey the Rat Blight card, counted during dual-color AO battles? If so, are either disregarded for final battle with the AO in play?

When an investigator discards clue tokens because of gaining the Amnesia madness card as a result of going insane, does another investigator with the Book of Anubis gain those clues?

In the Plateau of Leng encounter where you keep losing 1 stamina until you can pass an increasingly difficult Will check, what happens when it is impossible for Michael McGlen to pass the check?

The Strange Ornithological Sightings mythos card says flying monsters "do not attack investigators with Exhibit items until the end of next turn." Does this mean that flying monsters disregard those investigators when they move? Do investigaters get to freely ignore those monsters? Can investigators choose to engage the monsters? What about whent they appear as the result of an encounter? What if they Surprise the investigator?

If an investigator goes insane by successfully casting "Call Ancient One," is s/he replaced before the final battle, or will there be one fewer character?
Same question, with the "Messa Di Requiem" tome?


Minor Questions:

The Bank Foreclosure mythos card says investigators with outstanding Bank Loans "must pay them off immediately," but provides a penalty "if you cannot or will not pay". Can the investigators choose not to pay?

The Shroud of Shadows spell has a sanity cost of "Special." You first attempt to cast the spell, and then if you succeed, you decide how much sanity to forfeit. Does this spell have a sanity cost of 0 (for encounters that require such spells)? How does Daisy Walker's ability or the Crystal of the Elder Things affect this cost?

An encounter reads:
If you have any Exhibit Items, Father Michael calls them profane works and demands that you destroy them. If you refuse, you're Barred from Southside. If you agree, you gain 1 Sanity and 1 Clue token per item discarded.

Can you choose to discard only some? If you do, are you still barred?


Can The Messenger ally be discarded to prevent being devoured when:
Your sanity and stamina reach 0 at the same time? (If so, what happens?)
Your maximum sanity or stamina reach 0? (If so, what happens?)
You are Lost in Time and Space when Yog-Sothoth is the AO? (If so, what happens?)
You cannot pay the "toll" when Abhoth or Tsathoggua attack during Final Battle?
You reach 0 trophies/clues when Yog-Sothoth/Shub-Niggurath/Nyarlathotep attacks during final battle?
Glaaki sets the Terror Level to 10+ during final battle?
Shudde M'ell attacks when he has no rubble tokens left?
You have no trophies/clues when Yog/Shub/Nyar awaken?
You fail the roll to resist the effect of a Brood token?
Atlach-Nacha attacks the investigator with F.I. as the ally (he would then be discarded back to the ally deck)?
You accept The Mi-Go offer for "immortality"? Do you still seal the Yuggoth gate?
You "push through the walls of fatigue and confusion"...and seal the gate through which you entered by sacrificing yourself? Is it then still sealed?

When you are granted bonuses or penalties "on all checks against monsters," Does "against" only mean Evade, Combat, and Horror checks? Or does it mean all checks made while the investigator is in combat or dealing with the monster (checks for combat or non-combat spells; special monster checks, like with the Bloated Woman or the Black Man)?

An Other World encounter lets you discard spells as though they were clue tokens during "this combat." For which skill checks may they be spent (as illustrated by the above question)?

When encountering multiple monsters as the result of an Arkham or Other world encounter, do you draw them all at the same time? Can you choose the order in which you encounter them?

Do investigators lose sanity for taking Unique items from other investigators, or become Cursed when taking Exhibit items from other investigators, when the Dark Pharaoh herald is in play?

For the rumor Return to the Old Ways, does discarding a Common Item to pass the rumor subject to being discarded on a roll of 1 or 2, thereby not passing the rumor? Do Common Items discarded for other purposes, including their own uses, counted for passing the rumor?

For the Cursed Relics rumor, when a player discards/exhausts the unique/exhibit items, is the doom token supposed to be removed from the rumor, with no effect?

For the Plague of Insects environment, does "end their turns in the street" mean ending their movement in the street, or being there at the end of the Mythos phase?

For the Museum Haunted headline, does "destroy one of these Ghosts" only mean passing a combat check against them, or does it include removal by other investigator-initiated means? Can two Exhibit items be gained by destroying both Ghosts?

Are monster trophies re-killed by the Corpses Preserved headline really returned to the box, or are they supposed to be returned to the cup?

For Escape From Arkham Asylum and Museum Haunted, are Maniacs/Ghosts that have been returned to the box from the Corpses Preserved mythos card also drawn?

When an encounter in the Other World refers to "the gate you entered," does it mean the exact gate you entered, or does it mean any gate that leads to the OW you're in?

In the Other World encounter where all the monsters on the gate you entered appear, is Kate Withrop exempt?

An Other World encounter causes one of your random monster trophies to "return to life and surprise you." If you evade or are defeated by the monster, is it returned to the cup or box? Is it kept as a trophy?

Do you discard the Harried card when two or more monsters appear simultaneously during an encounter?

The Local Guide card reads:
Movement: Your speed is reduced by 1 as you show your visitor around Arkham. Does it mean Movement points, or is your actual Speed stat 1 less during the Movement phase?

What happens if you become barred from a neighborhood you're already barred from? Would you lose your Private Investigator card if this were to happen, even though you're already barred from that neighborhood? (Yes forum cultists, this scenario is possible).

In the encounter where "your clue tokens double," does Rex also gain an additional clue?

When an encounter says your turn ends, does that mean nothing further happens during the encounter phase, or are you restricted from performing actions for the rest of the entire round (through the Mythos phase)?

Does it really say "Erica Carlyle is slumming it"??? ;)

At the Witch House, there is an encounter where you can make a skill check and gain clues equal to the number of successes or spells for every 2 successes. Can you gain a combination of the two rewards?

An encounter states that if you fail a certain check, "you immediately go insane." Does that mean you must reduce your sanity to 0 and go insane because of that, or is it otherwise identical to going insane but without reducing your sanity to 0?

An encounter lets you put tokens onto the Food item. When you use Food, you may discard one token instead of the Food. Can this be used multiple times for the same source of stamina loss? If you trade the Food away, does it retain said tokens?

Does "your turn ends" mean the same as "nothing happens" or "have no encounter," or is it different?

A Newspaper encounter offers you to discard monster trophies and gain $1 or 2 Clues for each toughness. Is it supposed to say "$2 or 1 Clue"?

The five Mask Exhibit items allow you to gain the special ability of all of the other base investigators, except Vincent Lee. This seems to cause a strange imbalance between sanity and stamina. Is this intentional?

...and can you use the skill Mythos Lore when you "lose" a clue token? This does make you immune to Nyarlathotep.

That one I can answer: no. Losses and costs (i.e. spending) are distinctly different.

I do believe this has been answered before, although I can't find the source right now. The answer was you can't discard all of nothing to meet the requirements of something.

If you have "A Monster appears!" Encounter, and you draw the Werewolf, does its "special text" cause you to lose 2 Stamina?

If a monster surge occurs and no gate is the apparent focus of it (like through the Strange Sightings Mythos card), where do you place the Children of Abhoth?

Mythos Cards
Cursed Relics - What does it mean to "exhaust a ready Exhibit Item"? Do you simply have to exhaust any Exhbit Item that you have? Is it an Item that must be able to be exhausted (such as the masks)? If you exhaust a Mask, does the ability take effect immediately and continue to count down?

River Breeches the Levee - This card places 2 Exhibit Items on the board. When the Environment is replaced, do these cards get picked up from the board or do they remain until an investigator grabs them? Is one item only available to the first investigator to reach them (the wording makes it sound like the only the first one reached is available and the 2nd would disappear when the 1st is taken)?

Exhibit Items
Summoning Glass - How does this item work with other abilities that affect Special abilities? Can you use the ability if the location is Closed? Can this item be used to "open" locations closed by Tsathoggua when he is the GOO? Can this item be used to access the Strange High House on the HIll?

The biggest issue I have run into is "Verbage" conflicts that don't match the current rules. Is it possible to clear up the cards affecting "location, area, neighborhood ect." so these occurances are easily understood under the current rules and reference material. Thanks for your time.

A Curiosity Shoppe encounter has you draw 3 Common Items. "You may purchase any of the drawn items for $1 less than the list price, and must discard the rest." Can you purchase more than one of these items?

The five Mask Exhibit items allow you to gain the special ability of all of the other base investigators, except Vincent Lee. This seems to cause a strange imbalance between sanity and stamina. Is this intentional?

I am hoping that we can get Kevin in here to knock out all of the open questions we have for Kingsport (or any other open items). My goal is to have everything in this thread so that if Kevin can spend some time here, he doesn't miss something. I am not looking to clutter this up with more discussion on the topics, please use the original threads for that. But please add any topics that I missed and I will update this post to reflect the most current questions.

 

I also know that Deejay started a thread with pre-Kingsport questions, but it looks like it hasn't been updated in a while and it is cluttered with discussion as well. Regardless, here is the link to that page for reference.

Investigators
Lola Hayes' Improv - I assume she doesn't place her discarded Skill at the bottom of the deck until she has had a chance to look and possibly draw the bottom card. Otherwise she would only be able to draw the card she just discarded, correct?

Luke Robinson's Experienced Dreamer - Does Luke gain one Clue for each space (first and second area) in the Other World that he enters or only one Clue total for when he first enters that specific OW?

Lily Chen's Yin and Yang - It has already been ruled that she cannot "toggle" back and forth to gain both Sanity and Stamina in the same turn. However, if she increases her Maximum, from say 5 to 7 in one category, does she gain 2 tokens (1 for each "stop") or 1 total, since her total maximum was raised only once?

Charlie Kane's Connections - How does this ability work exactly? Is it meant only for Encounters where a specific Ally is mentioned but has already been sent back to the box? Does it include all 34 Allies (if playing with all expansions) or only the 11 selected for that particular game? Can he select from the box when he is told to draw a random Ally? Can he choose Allies from the box when he spends trophies at Ma's Boarding House? Is his starting Ally a random draw or a selected choice?

Charlie Kane's Settle Down! - Does this ability allow him to prevent the Terror Level from being set to 10 with The Terrible Experiment rumor? If he spends enough Clues, can he leave it at the current level?

Rex Murphy's Investigation - What happens when investigators reach a point where they can trade Clues? Does he gain an extra Clue token by trading? How many times can he trade within the same turn with the same investigators? In other words, can he get Clues from Inv. A and gain 1, then trade back with Inv. A and trade back yet again to get another +1, etc.?
[The same question would apply to the Press Pass as well for other investigators.]

Kate Winthrop's Science! - When can this ability be used? In the other world to prevent monsters from appearing there? Does it also work on monsters only or must the monster accompany the gate?
What happens if she returns to an explored gate that has a monster surge - is the surge cancelled because she stops the gate or does she only prevent the monsters appearing at that location and the surge continues elsewhere?
What happens if Kate is on a location with a seal and a Gate burst is drawn? Does it cancel the gate altogether or is the seal still broken?
Does Kate prevent a Spawn monster from appearing?
Focus - If your Focus is reduced to zero and something asks you to "Spend all your focus" is it possible to spend zero focus and pass this requirement? For example, Mark Harrigan with a focus of 1 obtains the Harried card. He fails the check and is reduced by 1 Focus to 0 Focus. He has a Bast token and must spend all of his focus to keep it. What happens in this situation? (And the timing of each is a little off so it might be an avoidable situation if the Bast Token is kept first and then the Harried goes into effect, but for the purposes of clarifying "Zero Focus" let's assume they have this type interaction).

Skills
Martial Arts - How does this card interact with the Axe? The Axe grants you +2 with one hand or +3 if the other hand is empty. Can you get this extra +1 and the MA +2 for the same empty hand? How does this interact with Marie Lambeau's Third Eye? If she is not using the third hand, does she get a +2 for this empty hand as well?

Special Cards
Captain of the White Ship - Can the White Ship be traded to other investigators like the Patrol Wagon? Is it considered an item for the purposes of calculating the number of items and discarding items?

Rift Progress Markers vs. Encounters
Encounter - Are Special Abilities of locations that are printed on the board considered "encounters"? If you go to the North Light House and get the White Ship cards, for example, does this meet the requirement for "investigating" and removing a Rift Progress Marker? Does Wilson Richards' Odd Jobs count as having an encounter as well?

Movement - The rules state that "if a rift moves along an arrow of the same color as its dimensional symbol, a doom token is added to the Ancient One’s doom track." If a Black Rift starts in a location and is moved due to its symbol coming up on the White background, it moves along the White arrow. However, coming out of a location, it is a Black/White arrow. Does this count as moving along a Black Arrow even though the movement was initiated by a White background? In other words, is it meant that everytime a Rift moves from a location that a doom token will be placed (since all locations have a Black/White arrow)?

Encounters
"Go to ... have an encounter and return" - How do you handle encounters that tellyou to move to another location or OW, have an encounter and return IF the 2nd encounter does something else to you? For example, what happens if the 2nd encounter tells you to go to another location or OW? Or you are lost in time and space? ...devoured? ...delayed? Does the 2nd encounter then cancel the first? Or do you still resolve the first 100%? If they are in conflict, which trumps?

"Give/Spend/Lose all..." vs. Possesing Zero - If an encounter or other event tells you to spend/lose/give all of something, but you have zero of that something, does this count as having spent/lost/given that soemthing away? In other words, do you have to have something to give away in order to meet the requirement of giving it away?

Mythos Cards
Environment Cards - Do Environment cards affect investigators in Other Worlds? There has been some conflicting comments on this. Most cards specifically state "in Arkham;" so does the absence of this phrase means it does affect the OW? In particular, do cards that increase the toughness of monsters also increase any monsters that ppear in the OW as a result of an encounter?
No opening gate - There are now a few non-Rumor Mythos cards that do not open a gate (all of the expansions except Dunwich contain at least 1 or 2). If these are drawn as the first Mythos before the game starts, do you still resolve them? Draw again? How does the Herald Tulzscha handle these no-gate mythos card and his first Cultist? Is no Cultist placed or is it placed on the actual first gate to open?

Gate Bursts - If a gate burst is prevented for whatever reason (Kate is standing there or there is not gate currently), do flying monsters still move? If Atlach-Nacha is the GOO, does every Mythos card with a gate cause the flying monsters to move?

Spells
Find Gate - How does this Spell interact with The White Ship? The White Ship allows you to go the the OW during the Movement Phase. Can Find Gate allow you to come right back on the same turn with an explored marker?
Find Gate - Similar to the White Ship above, how does the Night Gaunt interact with Find Gate? If you fail combat and get moved to the OW, can you cast Find Gate to immediately return in the same turn? Or is your movement phase over once you lose the battle?
Movement Phase Spells - Are you allowed to cast movement phase spells when you are delayed? For example, can you cast Find Gate after you have been delayed int eh OW to immediately return to Arkham?
Force Learning - The card says "cast and discard." What happens if you fail the Spell check? Is the card still discarded? Or was the card meant to be exhausted and only discarded if you were successful?

Unique Items
Livre d'Ivon - Is there a typo on this card? The first sentance says "Discard and spend..." But the text goes on to say "If you pass...discard Livre d'Ivon...if you fail, nothing happens." Does this card get discarded even if you fail? Or should the first word be "Exhaust"?

Exhibit Items
Summoning Glass - How does this item work with other abilities that affect Special abilities? Can you use the ability if the location is Closed? Can this item be used to "open" locations closed by Tsathoggua when he is the GOO? Can this item be used to access the Strange High House on the HIll?

Monsters
Return to Arkaham - The rules state that you "do not have to" engage monsters during the same turn that you return from the OW. Is this meant to be an option? Can you choose to engage a monster if you wish to do so? If there is more than one monster on teh location when you return, can you choose to engage only one and ignroe the other?
Dark Druid - The Dark Druid is a Green Bordered monster. Does he move like a Black-bordered monster? When he moves along Black Paths, all other monsters move on black as well. Does this mean they move as their color indicates (Yellow do not move, Red move 2 spaces, etc.)? Or does it mean they physically move one space regardless of color? If a Flier is in the sky, do they move as well (if applicable) since there is no Black Path for them? What does it mean "treat as a Cultist"? Are they affected by the Ancient One's slumbering ability?

Heralds
Tulzscha - What happens if Tulzscha is drawn as the Herald if Abhoth is the Ancient One? Are all Cultists removed? Is only one Cultist placed on the opening gate? Or should the herald be redrawn?

Final Battle
Money "Stuff" - The original rules instructed you to discard Retainers, Bank Loans and to no longer collect money once the Final Battle began. These seemed like useful ways to ditch some pointless book keeping. However, we now have useful weapons that require money to be spent in order to refresh them. Is this restriction still in place in light of these new items? It seems it would be useful to retain Jenny Barnes' Trust Fund and the Deputy cards during the Final Battle.

Black Goat of the Woods
Herald - Black Goat of the Woods - Set up says all Hexagon monsters form a 2nd monster cup. Does this include the Mask monster the Bloated Woman, which is a hexagon monster as well?
Herald - Praises and Abundance ability - When a gate opens, a 2nd monster is drawn from the hexagon monster cup. If playing with 5 or more players, do you still draw 2 monsters from the original monster cup? Do you also draw 2 monsters from the hexagon cup?

Corruption cards - There are 32 Corruption cards included, 16 each of Red and Green. The direction say shuffle the 8 Green with the 8 Red. Is this a typo and does it mean shuffle the 16 of each color? Or do you only use half the cards each game? If this, how do you select the 8 cards? Is it random or deliberate?

Ma's Boarding House - An encounter begins "Ma asks you to give her a hand moving a piano..." There are two "Pass" outcomes. The 2nd, losing 1 Stamina and being delayed, should be the "Fail" outcome. Is this correct?

Do the attacks of Glaaki and Shudde Melle occur once or once per player per turn of the Final battle?

c) the ability is ignored in this case.

Can you simultaneously be a Deputy and a Sheldon Gang Member at the same time. Can you be arrested at all as the Deputy, and do you stop being a deputy if you are arrested?

Can the Psychic use her ability to force a new draw for the mythos card drawn during setup?

Do the ghosts from the museum haunted headline give 1 exhibit item each?

Can you voluntarily fail a check, or ignore successes (e.g. when you roll dice during an encounter and consult a table)?

Does a Nightgaunt also move when dropping you into a gate, or does it stay where it is?

Can I use the Glass from Leng to access the ability of a closed location?

Does the Hound of Tindalos move when there are no valid targets (i.e. all investigators are in Otherworlds or the streets) and if so how?

Blights & Encounters: This rule states that you lose 1 san / stam instead of resolving an encounter with a person on a blight card. Sometimes I wasn't sure if these persons are part of the encounter or not:
(a) The card where you get Velma's Gratidude: I guess Velma's speaking, but that's not explicitely said.
(b) Not a question, but I want to point out that on one card Oliver Thomas is simply called "The Shoppekeeper".
© Sheriff Engle is on a blight card: There is an encounter where you eventually have to wait until Sheriff Engle comes.

If you cancel Cthulhu's entire attack for the turn, does he still heal? His healing text states: "AFTER [emphasis mine] Cthulhu attacks ... " Does this mean Cthulhu must have attacked in order to heal?

Can actions be performed during the Mythos?
A) does this include Items, Allies, and Investigator abilities, if not which elements
are excluded?

B) When can these actions be performed? (i.e. at any point during the Mythos phase,
or only in between phases/steps of the Mythos)

Does the R'lyeh Otherworld encounter you get to keep from KiY count as an item and can it be lost by any means other than giving it up?

Where does an investigator go if kicked out or barred from a location in the Merchant District during the
Fourth of July Parade?

If an investigator fights a GOO in an Other World encounter, does that investigator get all Upkeep actions? In particular, Retainer, Bank Loan, Bless/Curse, etc.

If the Terrible Experiment fails during the environment that disallows Fire Vampires, would that send Fire Vampires in the experiment to the cup?

Re: Pentagram of Blood (which blocks monsters of a certain toughness from entering a street). Suppose you put this ward on the Miskatonic streets just before the Terrible Experiment failed. Would that put monsters in the cup?

Does Ma Mathesons Blight discard Allies with Investigators and in the deck from play? That would be a disaster with Glaaki...In other words please define "allies in play"

Are Epic Battle and Sinister Plot cards used when facing an AO in an Otherworld encounter?

 When spending monster trophies do you have them in exactly groups of 5, 10, etc? Example science building disection ability all you have is a Dark Young and a Dhole, 6 toughness total.
