I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the ability to pre-order through FFG. I am especially interested if there are any promo items that may be released as a result either through FFG or my FLHS . Considering how crazy the prices for the 1ed promos have gotten I really don't want to be left behind this time around.

I haven't heard any news of promos in 2e, and I sincerely hope it stays that way.  I've never been fond of the promo business model in general, and having seen what it has done to Descent in first edition, I now hate it even more.

Edit: Note that I don't consider the 6 heroes in DQ to be "promos" (although some people seem to) since they aren't limited in availability.  I have no problem with FFG making games that can cross over, as long as all those products are sold in retail.

I am assuming the above is a joke and there really wasn't a pre-order yet?

I would consider pre-order.
