Are they even the same scale?

Yup, but how can you compare vehicles that don't have a 'real' size to scale :)  Yes, they fit perfect :)

Oh, that would be great!!! I´ve lots of Red Blok Stuff and walkers here, so I already have the core for the SSU troops.

It would work. It would save them money and it woudl be a fast turnaround (I imagine they will be sold unpainted but with red primer) and would allow FFG to release enough models at one time to let players get their fix and enough of a fix to play a full force. Say, 3 Armor 2 infantry, a Armor 2 hero, a Armor 3 hero, a Armor 3 infantry and two walkers (Armor 4 and Armor 3).

Hmm it's a bit double if they're really gonna use the RedBlok miniatures as the Sino-Soviets, for the people who own alot of them, it's great ofcourse, I have got a bunch of them aswell, but on the other side I really would like to see some other miniatures, like the KV-47 etc

I'd rather use Redblok as AT-43 miniatures, but that's just because I'm used to that :)

I hope they don't do this. The AT-43 Soviet stuff is way to modern looking for Dust. We need new miniatures...

Indeed I rather see AT-43 as a loose game instead of mixing it up with Dust

If they do this I would be very annoyed. I have no need for or want to own rehashed miniatures from another game. Give me the SSU as new models or not at all.

Yeah, this is a horrible rumor.  The red blok mini's are horrible compared to the Dust Studios sculpts.  Whoever started this should be ashamed of themselves.  There isn't even any concrete evidence that FFG has picked up AT43.  Lets finish that unfounded rumor before we start another one, eh?  They might fit scale well, but they aren't near as detailed.

That rumor has ZERO possibility. I can't believe this is even being discussed. I can't believe I am even discussing it!!

the SSU Kv-47 already exists in 1/48 (dust tactics/warfare) scale so I seriously doubt the at-43 rumor.  The models from Dust Models are the same ones you get from FFG, just unassembled and the Kv-47 is sold as the "Otto", one captured by the germans but it comes with SSU arms too.  furthermore, the models are based off of what can be found in the comics and there is no at-43 stuff in there.

Originally and losely based on what is found in the comics. There were no heavy grenadiers, red devils or Grim Reapers in the comics. If FFG/Parente decided to move forward by repackaging AT-43 stuff, they can if they want.

Personally I am all for it. Anything to get a faction or two more out there ASAP! Imagine when Markus rebels against Von Thaler and shows up with some Apes in Heavy Karman Armor!

While it would be cool to have all new, all original figures as well. Just as long as the SSR shows up soon and the Vrill as well.

But break up AT-43 and you have essentially the theme for Dust. Two human factions at war (Axis/Allies or Red Bloc/UNA) and a Alien invader (Vrill or Therian) and then you have a extra race that used to work for one of the forces out there (in AT-43 the Karmans and Therians, in Dust, once the Ape Rebellion hinted at in Operation Seelowe begins, you will have the Apes and the Axis).

Majestic 12 sounds a lot like The ONI. So go ahead, FFG, have at it.

I really don't understand this sentiment. Sure, I want to see the SSU, but why the rush? Why do we need it ASAP, even if it is a rehash of a previous line, instead of giving it time to be developed little by little, with cool new units made exclusively for Dust?

These are the two things that puzzle me about the public: Why does everything need to be out NOW, and why would the game be dead if the company stopped putting out product?

@peacekeeper;  the models for dust are based off of the comics however "loosley", but they are not based off of at43.  while there is certainly influence of at43 in dust (could be since parente was one of the designers for the imagery) dust is a seperate universe.  by your reasoning there would have been no reason to create new models for the axis and allied factions since they could have just used the UNA models.  while a few of the models for the axis/allies to be released arent in the comics NONE of the at43 models are in them.  the redblock faction might resemble the SSU but they are not the same thing.  i would rather wait for quality sculps that look like WWII soviets influenced by scifi than repackaged at43 scifi figs influenced by WWII soviets.  In the meanwhile im all for proxying up a SSU force, i did an entire army myself.  and once again, there already exists ssu models...

I think because there is a majority that is waiting for Dust Warfare and miniature players like to see variety if they plan to release this coming Q4. And if the survey is true that 25% of people think alike. Then I, as a 25% statistic would get bored easy by playing only 2 factions. I bet FFG would like to release it as soon as possible too, its stupid to hype out people in events like Gen Con and having a late release. The hype would die down and eventually people will forget about it and move on to other games.

So yeah, as gamers (hardcore or otherwise) want new stuff and it comes natural to nag the company about it. What I don't like however, are companies that release new products while skipping out on the quality of the product.

Initially, I thought the release of the new products was AFTER Gen Con 2011. Well it's still AFTER Gen Con, guess they just didn't specify when they said AFTER.

Well, I guess I'm just not a "miniature gamer" then. I just enjoy a good game.

1. Not based on Dust Comics. Both Dust Comics and Dust Tactics and Dust Warfare are based off the works of Parente. And if you look at Dust Comics, things look different, especially Marcus and all that, what is it called, oh yeah NAZI STUFF. Same background source material, but you can consider Dust Tactics to be a different Dust then Dust Comics. Thank the maker for that. We can also deduce that AT43 was Dust revised by Rackham to avoid the Nazi Question!

2. Yes, I would like new original sculpts for SSU as well. But I am telling you, miniature gamers are a fickle lot and dont like waiting years for extra factions and get tired of fighting the same armies (even if they have different make ups) year after year, game after game. Historical gamers are a bit different and more dedicated. But the whole notion of alternate history games came around because people got tired of just fighting axis and alies and then addied aliens, and monsters and magic and super tech and so forth.

3. There was no statement or clues or evidence of my reasoning anywhere in my post. I said I could go anyway with it, as I see the pros and cons with both sides. My statesments about the similarity of Dust to AT43 was just to show that the overal story/fluff/themes are not that different. AT43 was Rackham saying "what if we made them not Nazis, but guys in space! And go more UN vs USSR with them?" so they could avoid the whole Nazi and Swastika issue a European company would want to avoid. So you cannot say "by my reasoning.... una instead of allies... and so forth" but in the case of Joe, yeah, I woud have preferred a resold UNA troop over the Bazooka Joe figure.

4. So its ok to make your own proxuy force from other companies but its not okay for FFG to reuse AT43 figures? Thats pretty hypocritical.

5. No, there are no Dust Tactics or Dust Warfare SSU models. There are models from Dust Models for the SSU, and very few of them. But they are also unofficial and not Tactics/Warfare legal figures. Sure you can use them on your own, but again, thats no different then using AT43 figures as SSU or even Allied or even Axis or whatever figures. They would be unofficial and unaccepted in a Dust Tactics/Dust Warfare Tournament.
