Wow, these guys are VERY similar. It's the exact same stats card, just exchanging Assault for Widerblah Serum. And the TotenMeister's weapons is a BlutKreuz? What the heck is that? I thought that was just the name of the organization. I thought the thing in her arm was the Widerblah serum system, I have no idea how a Blutkreuz operates and why it would do the same amount of damage on a squad as on a mechanical walker...

And speaking of damage, that's one mighty chainsaw that zombie has, 4/1 against walkers? That's the same as a Kampfzange.

BlutKreuz translates to blood cross and it is quite literally a blood cross, also I agree about the 2 being such similar units it would be nice if there was a bit more of a variety between the 2.

Rather dissapointing profiles for the models - prefer Manfred!   The stats for the saw are ok, don't know if you have used one before loop, but unless the object is stationary and you can cut in a nice straight line, the saw will snag and break or cut your own arm off.

I know Blutkreuz means blood cross, but what does that mean for a weapon? It would seem it's some sort of biochemical weapon, but then why would it damage tanks?

An no, I don't think I've ever attacked a tank with a circular saw...

Ah, congratulations on the tournament; saw the vid interview.

Hmm... the card stats do look very similar. Two hero zombie list anyone? To give added durability because zombies don't get soft covers.

A bit torn on the new axis models though. Axis Zombies and Gorillas are both similar in function when the allies get jumpers specializing in different roles (anti-tank and anti-infantry). Axis heroes and units looks a bit specialized in the upcoming releases, when in reality, when you want a specialized units in game you field multiples of a unit. Hopefully the Axis will get more variety in the future.

Above all, thanks for the card pics.

Chain Fist anyone?

Oh yeah, is the Wiederbeleben Serum rule finally clarified?

Sorta. From what's been gathered, once TotenMeister's lost some health, she can regain it by inflicting wounds on other units. The key is that she must be already wounded before she hurts the opponent, and that means that simulatenous C combat does not count.

My fear was that this would happen. It actually makes me angry because its careless. Here we have 2 zombie/genetic hero's for the axis. A great opportunity to take the game forward into the dark recesses of the deranged minds behind Blutkreuz. With so many hero's for a board game war game you get the feeling that what should have happened, is not. I get the feeling that these models were made in prototype a couple of years ago for the AEG castle based expansion that have never seen the light of day. The great thing about dust tactics was that with boxed sets expansions it expands the universe, introduces story based campaigns that allows new hero characters to enter (story based campaign games that use a new hero as a key part of the story and purpose of the mission – whatever happened to this idea) and brings new environments through the tiles. I was really disappointed to see no further expansions announced at Gen con (unless I missed something). It kinda of feels like a bit of an offloading exercise in light of warfare coming out. (Don’t get me wrong I see Warfare as a positive step expanding the world and player base, but it needs to run parallel with the campaign based boardgame).
What we get is a card who's basic stats are - erm just make something up. Don’t make them too rubbish - they have to be better than the old hero’s. Make sure they can damage walkers. Oh ok - 4/1 against a medium - yep that will do.
I do really like the models. But they don’t really add much as just additional miniatures

I like it/them.

Dust in not heavily focused on Heroes - all they do is screen unit wit extra wounds and add tactical variability with extra (usually limited) ability. This is not skirmish game so it does not focus on single models but on units, you use heroes to add character to units or special rule (its not wh40k where infantry is usable only to screen power fisted commissars.)

Two zombie heroes that's two zombie units on table. One with regeneration , One for fast assault both highly resilient .

For a "Failed Bleutkreuz Experiment" Grenadier X seems to be pretty effective. These cards have to either be printed incorrectly or something. Why would they both be so similar, or nearly exact?

You can only use one of each hero, not one of each general type of hero.

Because the game doesnt have much a range. Every troop is going to be remarkably similar to all the rest, All Infantry Armor 2 will be move 1 and health 5, weapons may vary, but that will either be good against armor or good against infantry, or decent against both.

About the only way to truly make these two different is make one a tank killer and the other a troop killer. But it makes no sense for the buzz saw to be weak against troops or to have totenmeister weak against troops when that is how she regenerate.

You could have made the giant blade saw a range 1 attack (therefore not used in C, but allowing cover saves as well) and given it a bonus die of damage/attack or giving it a more phaser style damage (2//2) and make the blutkreuz a laser style effect.

Even a fourth stat like morale or reaction could make characters a bit more diverse, or another skill each.

but maybe we will be lucky and it is a typo.
