What are your thoughts on upgrades for your units?   I'm thinking along the lines of:

Schuerzen - additional armour plates to protect from HEAT type weapons, your bazooka's etc.  Gamewise, any weapon that does a 1/2, 1/3, etc damage. Maybe 10pts and reduces damage by 1 per hit, or force a re-roll on a hit.

Smoke Lauchers - One use only, covers vehicle in smoke so it cannot be targeted, lasts until the vehicle is activated again. 10pts?

Added protection - could be additional armour plates welded on or even a load of excess stowage.  +1 to armour 10pts

I would hate to get into the "add bits for x amount of points to get x bonus" thing.  That could become a slippery slope and too easy to unbalance things.  But that is just my opinion.

Agree with Hanomag. Cheesing units can be dangerous. This may also require FFG to give point values to all individual weapons, equipment and armor etc. If not done properly, it may unbalance the game. A system that does this quite well is Battletech, but then, the construction of a Mech can be so complicated that we even have software to help in the design! I love the simplicity of DT and I hope it remains that way.
