The description says four factions so I assume 2-4 players but what's up with the five different colored figures? Are there neutral figures or is there a fifth faction?

Read the Description page of the Game and you will learn alot (and if you know Battlemist or have read the summary in another Thread.. an you can deduct a bit of the Gameplay):

Neutral Monsters

Daqan Lords (Feudal Humans... WAR)

Latari Elves (Magic/Diplomacy)

Ulthuk Y'llan (Demonic Twisted Humans (Army of the Damned))

Undead lead by Waiquar

(and yes 2-4 Players... hopefully an expansion will bump that up to 6 (or more PLEAAAAAASEEE))

Will the game be suitable for team game, like Starcraft? It was one of my preferred Starcraft features (that and the BW scenarios that were much more interesting than the usual FFA game).

For what it's worth, here are the ten factions from Diskwars.  The four which are showing up in Runewars:

Knights (lots of interactions, with officers and standardbearers improving their other units)

Uthuk (fast, high attack units)

Elves (magic and ranged attacks)

Undead (interactions and special abilities; return after being eliminated)

And six more we might get to see if things go well for the game:

Orc (good close combat attacks)

Mahkim (swamp creatures: another good close combat group; good special abilities)

K'Ryth (demons: swarming attacks)

Dwarf (Slow and good at defense)

Dragons (fast and flying; magic attacks; expensive)

Acolytes (Arabian-themed magicians; Poor at fighting, but lots of magic and special abilities)

Nice.  That's three expansions, assuming two races per.  If this game really is akin to a fantasy Twilight, 10 players might not be entirely out of the question either (not that I'd have time to play such a monster game =P)
