Anyone notice this career has the Charm skill? Dubious..... unless he's part of a barber shop quartet!!!!

Well, 2ed barber surgeon also has charm. After all, a good doctor needs to calm the patients.

Oh, and don't forget Sweeney Todd. He was a quite charming fellow too, and also a barber, and a hobby-surgeon. :)

Yes, but still nothing really about the system. We now know, that there can be random selections of race and career with cards. Also we know that rest is dividing points (or buying with points).

Here is few things:

  • Races: Reikland Humans only. Interesting way to present this. So, there will some new "Sigmar's Heirs" package, with other Empire Provinces. And then maybe Bretonnia, with cards for all provinces.
  • Entries & Exits: Is there Entries and Exits in the careers (we havent been able to see really other side of the card)? I mean Barber-Surgeon definitely is BASIC CAREER for Humans and Dwarfs? But what other careers can move to become it or what is next for it?
  • Career Races: BASIC CAREER: HUMAN or DWARF. What does that mean - Well, I would say no Elf surgeons. Ok, logical. But what about when you add Halflings? Do they not have Barber-Surgeons? Somehow it just seem the future is not that taught.
  • Card Sidebars: Also noticed that sidebars REPUTATION and FOCUS are different with Coachman?
  • Skills & Talents: Are those Career skills in the card ALL the Skills and former Talents for this career? It's more simple, but it wasn't that bad before... I mean many good Askills/talents are missing... Advances do include TALENT 1 for Barber-Surgeon. SO, maybe there is pool of open Talents available still...

Yea, along those lines I can see their being a table to look up for what races can actually take what careers from different expansions.

While I think the exists will have something to do with the career groupings that are listed below the mention of races /career combination.
eg Barber Surgen has listed: basic, social, specialist, urban.

Though they may also be blocks that the character can learn skills from too.

I'm guessing that Halflings will just be considered humans for determining what careers they can use.

Career exits, according to someone on RPG.net who was at the seminar, are determined by the keywords near the top of the card. You compare the keywords on your current career and those on the one you want to go to. The more of them that match, the easier it is to go to that career.

-Races: Yep, I'm sure there'll be expansions. I just hope, that they whole Empire will be in one book/boxed, not spread out in smaller expansions...
-Entries and Exits: I suppose the cost of career change depends on how many keywords match with your current, and planned career.
-Career Races: They are planning other races, but who knows what the future brings, so it's better not write down anything, what comes to their minds. By the way, I hope we'll get ogres in an expansion. Warhammer has the best ogres.
-Card Sidebars: Maybe because the Coachman gets REPUTATION and TACTIC, insted of REPUTATION and FOCUS...
-Skills &Talents: Many skills were merged, those are written on the Career Sheet. Talents now work a "bit" different. There are three kind of them: Tactic, Reputation and Focus. I think Tactic is for combat, Reputation helps social interactions in some way, and Focus maybe grants skill bonuses. Anyway, you can have two active at a time, but you can put some on the party sheet, so the other party members can use them too.
