Pretty sure it would ready him for combat would it not?

Declare your first attack against an enemy, destroy it and ready him, declare your next attack

Oh yeah of course. I was thinking too rigidly about phases. Makes sense, I like the card a lot now that I get it.

yeah its a cool mechanic!

An ally that gets an attack or defense boost if it participates in defending/attacking with a Hero might be a cool idea?

For example:

Cost: 3 Sphere: Tactics

Silvan Blademaster

Willpower: 1

Attack: 2

Defense: 1

Health: 2

Silvan Warrior may be declared as an additional defender for any one attack a hero has been declared the defender for.
When defending an attack with a hero, if neither the blademaster or the hero take damage as a result of that attack deal 1 damage to the attacking enemy.

When Silvan Blademaster participates in an attack with a hero it gets +1 attack until the end of the round.

My rules text is horribly worded and it seems slightly overpowered...... still a cool idea though.

Is it supposed to be shark, like the fish, or sharp, like pointy?

Yeah, the shieldarm is simulating the idea that he defends first, keeping a foe at bay, while someone else swoops in for the kill. Once the engaged foe is handled, the shieldarm is ready to aid in a counter-attack.  :)

Actually, I rather like Shark Rocks. I don't think Tolkein explored the dangers that sharks posed to the peoples of Middle Earth enough :)

A shark could eat a hobbit or man child in one bite. That is pretty scary. Especially compared to their octopods.

Then how do we know there were dangerous sharks in middle earth?

I like the design, but why would a "Forced" effect use optional engagement? Why not just "Jumper Goblin engages the first player"? Would a disctinction affect gameplay?

If the wording is altered slightly, then it means that the first player is forced to use their optional engagement on that specific goblin. Which is rather clever.

Rather clever, but wording is bad.

Should be something like:

"Forced: When faced with an option to optionally engage an enemy, first player must engage Jumper Goblin, if able."

"If able" is added because if there would be two jumper goblins in play at one time, first player won't be able to optionally engage both of them because he has only one optional engagement per turn.

True, i didn't thought about 2 copies. Ok then.

I just learnt a little Photoshop. Here are some cards I came up with today.

Just some quick ideas. Haven't thought them through much; just found some artwork that I really liked. I think Gondor is lacking in Spirit.

That Forbidden Insight card is actually really good.  I really like it.  Excellent.

Now at that time the Chieftain of the Ringwraiths dwelt in Minas Morgul with six companions, while the second to the Chief, Khamul the Shadow of the East, abode in Dol Guldur as Sauron's Lieutenant, with one other as his messenger."  - Unfinished Tales
