Concussion Rifle?

Let me have a beer and some reading time and I'll get back to you - surely you can all understand my glee at just the artwork!

Dun dun dun!

Must be a dam large beer

I'm officially losing sleep for species knowledge, at this point.

Aw, shucks, it was actually a couple beers and family time.  I'm not even 8 pages in yet!

Our species are Aqualish, Klatooinian, and Weequay.

Some of you are going to like the vibroknucklers as well.

Listen to my actual play podcasts at BeggingForXP.com.

Take a look at my Talent Trees (Edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion), YT-2400 deck plans for the Lazy Bantha, as well as my other handouts.

Between the latter two there and the Toydarians from EtU, the species choices for hoped for Hutt Space sourcebook are looking slim. Aside from the Hutts themselves. They are not slim.

No worries Brother.  As a father of 5, I know how that goes...  I'm a happy man!

Whoot Whoot! Quay and Klato.

Gammorrean, Yarkora, Whiphid, Amani.  There are a small ton of species I could see coming in such a book.  Not to leave out Nikto but I really hope to see Nikto broken out (all the sub species), and done justice.  Heck, Nikto alone could cover the species for a book.
I don't know if we are ever going to get playable Hutts.  I hope so too, but I can see a logic in it not happening.

When SAGA did these species they actually were rather sub-par, ending up with net negatives to stats and the like.  Can you tell me if FFG did them any justice?  Are they on par with other species, released thus far, as to playability?

I'd be interested as to what the new specialisations are supposed to represent - is a 'Heavy' a 'goon' as in gangster movies, or a heavy weapons specialist?

Can you spoil the career skills for each specialisation please?

I'm disappointed in the species - they're all fugly and all have an identical 'low-life hoodlum' theme.  Feels like the same race with different names. The ones in the Explorer book - Chiss, Toydarians and Duros - were all very different from each other...

Yep. Feels like we're getting vanilla, French vanilla, and vanilla bean (where vanilla = thug). Some material is better than nothing, but these are not the species I was looking for.

I guess it suits the Hired Gun archetype HappyDaze, but it still feels bland to me.

We get UglyThug, Fishy UglyThug, and Ponytail UglyThug.

Would have been nicer to see one that was human-like (Devaronians maybe), and something wildly different like Herglic I think.

One classic grunt type like those presented, one 'big guy', and one refined/finesse warrior type to represent the Mercenary Soldier/Demolitionist specialisations that aren't simple legbreakers.

Ouch! I like the Hired Gun, especially when they aren't thugs. Mercenary Soldier can be played as a classy professional, Marauder can be a noble space viking, and Bodyguard can be all Kevin Costner... or Brock Sampson. I hope the book isn't too focused on the thuggery.

True.  We have two Hired Guns, a wookiee mercenary soldier who is a noble freedom fighter and guerrilla leader, and a chiss 'bodyguard to the stars' who has to look good while protecting the celebs.

Well, if it helps, think of the weequay as represented by Hondo Ohnaka, aka Minsc, then they are the talky flamboyant race.

Also beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And there is also the possibility, in regards to the Hutt Space book so many of us want, that the canon has changed and the servitude races are not anymore.

I am dissapointed that a large race like herglic didn't get represented. We have enough silhouette zero, let's have a two. Unless it's Aleena, then we can have another zero. Also for the love of the force, please tell me if the concussion rifle is in the booj!

We have exactly one Silhouette 0 species (Toydarians) and (IIRC) the option for droids. That's hardly 'enough' of them.

Sorry to disappoint, folks, I realize nobody chooses greatness, it is thrust upon them.  I will endeavor to clear my schedule to get some more reading done.

I would have rather have a droid "sub-species" than two Jabba skiff twins. I was kinda expecting a species from AoR; glad I was wrong.
