Hi

I have a question regarding this Card

Good for the Gander

"When revealed, copy the "when revealed" ability of an opponent's revealed plot card."

does this mean the effects stack,

For example

The Power of arms gives +2 to War crested characters

so would this mean it would give a +4 to war crested characters

similarly

Calm over westerous

would this mean events cost 2 to play

For Valor Morghulis would you do the first run of killing, characters use attachments to keep themselves alive by kneeling the the you would do the second set of killings which would kill those previous saved characters

Thanks

Ulrictar.

No to the first two, because neither of them is a "When Revealed" effect. Good for the Gander can only copy plots with a "When Revealed" trigger (like Valar, which you accurately describe), not effects that are "constant". The confusion comes from the fact that while Power of Arms is constant, it is only active while Power of Arms is your active (revealed) plot, but that doesn't make it a "when revealed" effect.

Does that help?

It's worth noting that in a game, it's quite possible to have two players with the same plot revealed - and yes, constant effects stack. However, something like Power of Arms only works on the controller's characters, so all War Crested characters aren't jumping up 4 strength if two of these are revealed.

Good for the Gander can literally only copy plot effects that begin with 'When revealed,'

If it doesn't start with that phrase, it can't copy it.

I assume the When Revealed is not optional ... just wondering what happens if this is played at the same time someone else plays Summoned by the Conclave ... whether there is anyway to avoid it

... you'd really hate it if that happened and you had to give your opponent another free search

When revealed, each player not running an agenda may search his or her deck for a character card, reveal it, and add it to his or her hand. Shuffle all searched decks

Passive effets are not optional, they have to initiate. They can have optional effects (like Vigilant or Summoned by the Conclave), but this is explicitly indicated by the word "may".

Good for the Gander is not a very good plot for Joust.  It can be a very good plot for Melee however.

Even in melee it has limited value and the possibility of a negative effect makes it even worse

It's okay if you know what everyone else's revealed plot cards are - so it could be played in conjuction with Betrayal at the Wall, Bungled Orders, Citadel Law or the new Arianne Martell ... quite a few options actually!

It's can certainly be a risk to reveal it in Melee, but it's a reasonable chance that you will have 2 - 3 choices among multiple "when revealed" effects where at least one of them won't backfire.  Melee is where you'll see the "help me" "when revealed" plot quite often.  Sometimes copying an opponent's Valar helps quite a bit too.

I actually think I played it in Joust back when TMP was popular. Free AND superior At the Gates was amusingly good and bad at the same time.
