I really hope that Tristayne Olliven the necromancer in the new expansion has something to do with zombies.


It would be awesome if he had some ability that went like


"May replace any open group with zombies at setup as long as Tristayne is the master"


and then if he had something like "When a zombie is defeated within 5 spaces of Tristayne place a wound marker there, at the start of next overlord turn, a zombie is spawned in the nearest space to the wound marker."


and then maybe "Death pulse: Heal 2 health to every monster in a 5 space range"


I just really hope that we get to see some of the worse monsters made better by the new agents, and I think this would be a super fun way to do it. It would really make the zombies feel like zombies, and zombies are so awful, allowing them to come back I don't think would over power things too bad as long as Tristayne had low health and maybe one grey die.

I really dont mind the zombies being underpowered, i think its important for the game balance that zombies be underpowered.


They have their place in the game and that is to be incredibly slow, weak creatures that can immobilize a target. That means they are useful for quest creation! They obviously suck at open monster groups, but i am cool with that because they have their own place in the game that other monsters could not fill.


That is not to say there could be some interesting ways like you are suggesting to make monsters more interesting in the context of using them in open monster groups,or alongside a lieutenant. I too would like to see inventive ways of getting more use out of them while still keeping them useful and not overpowered in the context of non-open monster groups.

I like your idea but perhaps we just need a quest with a large graveyard  where zombies or some other nasty undead creatures  have special rules allowing them to do a bit more than in regular scenario.  Perhaps its a good idea for a small box expansion  "Necromancer hunt" or something simillar. Making a way through swarms  zombies has its climax (Perhaps we would need to utilize some of the  tokens to represent extra zombies! :) )
