I've had my son staying with me the last couple of days so decided to try some different squad lists.

The first game I played Empire (as normal) and took the following:

Lambda - Captain Yorr, HLC, Recon Specialist
TIE Int - Soontir Fell, PTL, Stealth Device
TIE Int - Turr Fenir, PTL, Stealth Device

My son went Rebels and took the following:

YT-1300, ORS, MF
B-Wing, Blue Squadron Pilot, HLC
X-Wing, Rookie Pilots x2

This game was a disaster for me. He dropped both TIE int's in round 2 and I was left with the shuttle which he totally out manoeuvred and eventually destroyed.

Next game he took the same list as he was feeling cocky!

I went with 4 TIE Bombers, both named and 2 Gamma. This time my ordnance worked beautifully. Rhymer shot his APT at the YT-1300 all hitting with the benefit of the reroll from Jonus. Both gamma's hit with their assault missiles and both x-wings and the b-wing suffered splash damage. Wiped him out with the loss of a gamma bomber.

Today we decided to swap sides.

I flew 4 A-Wings, Green Squadron Pilots, with PTL, Stealth Device

He flew Firespray with Boba Fett, HLC, recon specialist
TIE Bomber Jonus
Lambda Shuttle

I was amazed at the agility of the A-wings. Against the 2 large ships they flew rings around them. They never got hit once and took down the shuttle and the bomber. The Firespray lost all it's shields a 2 hull points before time ran out!

Now I realise my sons list wasn't the most agile but it sure opened my eyes upto the fact that the A-Wings are really hard to hit! The dice were also on my side! I think I'll definitely be flying this rebel squad again! I know my son will from now on!

Four A-Wing flying against the Imperial tubs....  seeing the Imperials out maneuvered shouldn't have been a big surprise.

With that last Imperial squad what was the purpose of the Lambda?  I'm wondering because a couple Academy Pilots may have been more useful.  I'm also wondering about the Recon Specialist with Boba, sure double focus can be nice but if he isn't getting shots off it doesn't help much.  Fett + Navigator could be a really interesting combo to use against those pesky little A-Wing, if you stick you your bank maneuvers you'd have six options on where you want to go so hopefully you can put at least one of those A-Wings in your sights each turn.  While it can be amazing I'm not sure the HLC is what you'd want against those A-Wings (unless you were have luck at long range) as an Ion Cannon could be used to set up an A to get abused the next turn and an Auto-blaster would be far more effective at hitting those things IF you'd ever happen to find one in your front arc at range 1.  In any case a Proton Bomb can mean INSTANT DEATH to an A-Wing that gets caught by it.

I agree a couple of Academy Pilots would have been a better choice. I think my son just liked the look of the shuttle! He put together his own list without any help from me! Valid point about Recon Specialist too.

As for the A-Wings I just loved how they manoeuvred, particularly as it was the first game I've played where I've not ended up on an asteroid!

once i acquire one more a wing I'm going to try this list i posted else where..

5x proto type pilots w/ stealth.

In the mean time I'm going to try your list with 4 greens PTL and stealth, i think it may be better than 5 proto's. One less ship, a lot more actions and much better PS.

I see your schwartz is as big as mine. Let's see how you handle it!
