For reference for those of you playing wizards..deidrich has this in day late shilling short I believe.

Sword of Judgement
Often gifted to those in the Grey College that show great promise, these magical blades seem to cleave reality with every strike.
= DR5/CR2, Magic, superor, attuned 1; enc3

This sword is attuned to the Wind of Ulgu.  Grey Wizards may add 1 white to Channelling and Spellcraft checks.

As a superior weapon, a Sword of Judgement adds 1 fortune die to all attacks made while wielding it.

Grey Staff
A long wooden staff topped with several smoking candles.
= DR 4/CR4; Attuned 2; Defensive, Magic; Enc4.

This staff is attuned to the Wind of Ulgu.  Grey Wizards may add 2 fortune dice to Channelling and Spellcraft checks.
Once per session, a Grey Order wizard wielding a grey staff, may remove a number of recharge tokens from his currently recharging Grey Order spells equal to his character rank.

Wow, that will be ridiculously powerfull in combination with the Blade in the Dark spell, which is pretty sick to begin with. You can easily get 5 white dice to that check, even if you are at a pretty low rank - two for the weapon, one for the target being in shadow, one for a rank 1 spell specialisation, and one for a grey order specialisation. And with the grey staff, you get another two? That is quite crazy, methinks.

I have developed rules for a similar weapon to give to the rank 1 Grey Wizard in my party after completing his apprentice quest/practical exam for the college, but that one would be less powerfull. It would simply be a high quality hand weapon that gives one white die to channeling checks (not spellcraft), and would give the wielder the option of spending 1 power when using it for melee attacks or parrying to have the target suffer 1 stress as the blade is obscured by illusive magic.

I reckon the official one is more catered to high level characters.

I have developed a tool for developing character personalities through random table selection. Please check it out

I've also made a similar tool for plot creation and development, which you can find here.

What is the blade in the dark spell?  Is it a grey wizard spell that I missed on the list?

No. it's from the core set. It's both a spell and a melee attack where the caster stabs into one shadow, and the sword comes out of another - a truly awesome mental image, methinks.
