Hey Cthulhuites!

Next Cthulhu league is just over a week away, which is in itself cause for a ritual sacr...celebration! The league, which is heaps of fun, kicks off October 16th and goes for 6 weeks. Players drop their worst weeks score, we add up the rest and we have a result! Even if you're not that competitive and just like the game, or a new player looking to have fun and gain experience, cruise in anyway and play, the people are cool and we have nightly and overall lucky door prizes up for grabs, so everyone has a chance to win something! And this league lucky door prize is a copy of the upcoming FFG release Eldritch Horror!!!!!!!!!! Details below

Where: Good Games Burwood
Level 1, 195a Burwood Rd
Burwood Sydney 2134
When: Each Wednesday night starting from October 16th for 6 weeks. 6.30pm kick off, with 4 rounds of fun Cthulhu magic each night
Format: Standard Constructed. That means the usual restricted list applies
Entry: $7 per night
Prizes: Store credit each week up as prizes, as well as overall league prizes. Lucky door prizes each night, with the overall lucky door prize being the remarkably terrific Eldritch Horror.

If you'd like to try, cruise in on a Wednesday were a friendly Cthulhu player will show you how its done, and lend you a deck to use for the night. And don't forget our celebration of Call of Cthulhu LCG night on Halloween (Oct 31st) where we will run a UBER learn to play night, lots of casual games, PLUS shout everyone who takes a demo FREE PIZZA on the night! WOOHOO!

Call of Cthulhu LCG is a great game-my favourite currently and has been for several months. Its thematic, fun, plenty of depth and plenty of funky scope for deckbuilders. And cool people play it. And its not that expensive to get into as you only need to buy the packs with cards in them you need, unlike booster packs. SO come along and try, most people who do like it, its a fantastic game!

Cheers

Hey Investigators!

Week one of the league kicked off last night, with former Master Investigators Alex and Neil returning to add some class to the field, and apprentice investgators Josh and Nathan W fronting up to put veterans in their place. AFter 4 rounds of fun, action packed Cthulhuing Kenny Goober and his lunatics (no jokes) drove everyone insane to take the night with a 4-0 sweep. Some very handsome guy with airtight credibility and a devil may care attitude went 3-1 with the mafia to finish second, with Nathan W, Alex and Neil all finishing equal third at 2-2. Standings below

Kenny 4 4
Kieren 3 3
Nathan W 2 2
Neil 2 2
Alex 2 2
Jason 1 1
Daniel 1 1
Josh 1 1

Hey Investigators,

9 brave souls arrived last night to try to save the world from destruction (or accelerate the process!) and after the dust settled, Kenny Goober and his looneys again swept the field to go 4-0-well done Kenny! Neil and his Miskatonic University guys and Kierens Cops (led by Steve Clarney, the tough, no nonsense cop from the wrong side of the tracks( both went 3-1 to finish second (after an amazing game between them!) and a swagger of people, led by A Game of Thrones gurus Nathan M and Aaron finished equal third. Standings below:

Kenny 4 3 4 11
Kieren 3 2 3 8
Neil 2 1 3 6
Alex 2 2 1 5
Daniel 1 1 2 4
Jason 1 0 2 3
Nathan W 2 2
Josh 1 1 2
Nathan M 2 2
Aaron 2 2

Players drop their worst weeks score. Everybody who plays is in the running to win the overall lucky door prize of a copy of Eldritch Sign, when it becomes available in November!

Call of Cthulhu is great. Its a wonderful game in the Living Card Game format, and its played by a fine group of people. Tonight (Halloween!) we're running a learn to play night/Call of Cthulhu celebration at Burwood where if you'd like to try we'll be demoing the game from 6.30pm till around 9pm. If you already play, or have played and would like to play some fun, casual games, cruise in tonight and play, mingle and have fun wioth like minded Cthulhu players. All Cthulhu players (and people who take the demos) will be treated to free pizza!

We play Cthulhu each Wednesday night from 6.30pm, so you'll always have a friendly group ready to play against! Come and try, its fun!

Cheers

Hey Investigators!

Week 4 of the Cthulhu league was run and won last night, and with Cthulhu heavyweights Kenny Phuong Nguyen and Daniel Waller unable to make it, it left the field wide open for a new champion to step up. That man was Alex Nercessian, who took his green Cthulhu people to a 4-0 victory, and did it in style (Alex always wears a suit). Some devilishly handsome guy with a free spirit finished 3-1 to come in second, with CThulhu 's snappiest dresser Neil leading the 2-2 pack to finish equal third. Thanks also to new Cthulhu recruit Ellis Anti-Palm Oil Longhurst for cruising in for 30 minutes or so for a quick game, and to add some class to the event. Standings below

Kenny 4 3 4 11
Kieren 3 2 3 3 11
Alex 2 2 1 4 9
Neil 2 1 3 2 8
Jason 1 0 2 2 5
Daniel 1 1 2 4
Nathan W 2 2 4
Nathan M 2 2 4
Josh 1 1 1 3
Aaron 2 2

Players drop their worst weeks scores. With just 2 weeks to go 5 runners have a mathematical chance of being this leagues CHAMPION! But that doesn't really matter as playing Cthulhu is its own reward, its a fantastic game. Performance based and lucky door prizes are on offer both nightly and overall, this leagues overall lucky door prize is a copy of the yet to be released Eldritch Horror!

We play Cthulhu each Wednesday night from 6.30pm. Its just $7 to play, we play 4 rounds, and it is heaps of fun. If you'd like to play cruise in on a Wednesday evening and a happy, friendly Cthulhu player will not only show you all the moves, they'll lend you a deck to play with also!

See you next Wednesday!

Hey Investigators!

Last Wednesday was the final night of the year for the Call of Cthulhu league! And what a fun night it was, 8 players arrived to face fear, mystery, and things that go UNG UNG UNG BURP in the night. After 4 rounds, Kenny Goober and his looneys, the best dressed man in CThulhu Neil and some handsome devil with electric dance moves all finished at 3-1 to share the top spot, with Alex, Daniel and Jason both finishing on 2-2. The night also saw the welcome return of Leslie La, multiple Cthulhu league champion. So after 6 awesome rounds, the standings looked like this

Kenny 4 3 4 4 3 18
Kieren 3 2 3 3 2 3 16
Neil 2 1 3 2 3 3 14
Alex 2 2 1 4 1 2 12
Jason 1 0 2 2 2 2 9
Daniel 1 1 2 2 6
Nathan W 2 2 4
Nathan M 2 2 4
Josh 1 1 1 0 3
Aaron 2 2
Leslie 1 1

Kenny is a well deserved league champion. He led from week 1 and did it with a cool, fun innovative deck. Well done Kenny. Some really suave guy with electric dance moves finished runner up, with CThulhu's best dressed player Neil finishing a gallant third. Neil also won the leagues lucky door prize of a copy of Eldritch Horror-well done Neil!

We will have a 1 day CThulhu tournament on Saturday 21st December where we will play for a season 2 kit (drafting contents). ENtry will be $10, 1pm start, come one come all, it will be a fun day. Possible refreshments post Cthulhu to celebrate Christmas may also be on the cards for all those willing and over 18!

Thanks all who have played CThulhu this year, you have made Wednesday nights something to look forward to. Special thanks go to Brother Jason Conlon, who somehow always finds time to help new players learn the game, despite having legions of young female fans continually clutching at his erogenous zones.

See you all December 21st for the season ending Christmas celebration at Burwood! New players always welcome!
