So much cool info with this. First of all i'm really glad to see that Eomer's ability gives him a plus 2 attack and not a plus 1 (especially with the now confirmed limited once per round...i prefer this over plus 1 limit 3 per round). It wont be hard at all ensure he's striking with 5 each turn...I'm liking him a lot. Also, i cant even explain how excited I'm going to be to create a "Captains of the West" deck using core Aragorn, Prince Imrahil, and Eomer...especially given that the latter two seem perfect for each other.
Putting the doomed keyword on cards is a really great idea to encourage more strategic deckbuilding and influence greater decisions in game rather than just picking which characters quest, attack, and defend as can often become commonplace. The fact that they have cards that indirectly work with these voluntary threat increases like the orthanic guards and orthanic keys are also quite cool as it suddenly becomes its own archetype (one not limited to a "trait" either...although it seems the "isengard" trait will be surprisingly plentiful)
Call me crazy but my first reaction to Saruman is not a great one. Cost is reasonable and stats are great obviously but the threat gain is a bummer and i dont really think the ability is that great. Firstly because it can only be something in the staging area and secondly, because it just removes it from play for a single turn...so its still going to be there. Its not even like if you picked an enemy you could attack and kill it off without worrying about it attacking you and you wont be able to travel to the location that you select and clear it from the board in its weakened state. Maybe it'll be better in practice but I think i'll be trying some of the other cool cards before i will Saruman
Finally my favorite topic...hero speculation! The female elf on the banner is a bit interesting. The looks work just fine but it seems somewhat out of place for her to have a sword drawn and bruised from battle. I also dont think its a created character because as previously mentioned I'm sure the term "notable" for the hero selection was done very purposefully. Its going to be someone we know. I remember when Heirs of Numenor was announced there was the banner picture of the then unkown Celador who many people thought might have been the artwork for Faramir but that obviously ended up not being the case. The elven female may just be an ally...or if it is Arwen, good for FFG for portaying her differently enough to make us debate about it haha.
Also...on page 1 a few of you said you saw an elf that looked it could possibly be Haldir?? where is that? the only banner characters i see are Eomer, that smug orc, and the elven female
