One of my players has decided to focus on flame weapons as far as personal combat goes.  So…

1) Does Ballistic Skill matter at all to a Flamer user?  Is there a Talent that makes it so, if not?  (I didn't find one, but I'm not anything like an expert on all the Talents yet.)

2) Does the Test to avoid a Flamer consume your Reaction, or is it a freebie?

3) It says Agility Test but it sounds a lot like they're making a Dodge Test, should we consider requiring or allowing them to test Dodge instead?

2+3a) If it's an Agility Test that doesn't take your Reaction, then could the target ALSO make a Dodge Test as their Reaction and get two tries to avoid the damage?

4)  Does Righteous Fury work with a Flamer?  If so, how?

and besides flamers…

5)  Melee Weapon Training (Universal) doesn't include the Primitive group.  Arch-Militants, and probably others (though it was my AM that pointed it out), get a Primitive Weapon with the Mono upgrade (which causes the weapon to lose the Primitive quality… though it doesn't necessarily join a different group of melee weapons) to start, but not Melee Weapon Training (Primitive).  Does the Mono upgrade make MWT(U) apply to the weapon, or is it intended that new "weapon masters" start with weapons they aren't proficient with?

6)  If an Astropath is manning the guns and uses Divining the Future, can he use the Ballistic Skill bonus with a Ship Weapon Component?

7)  If an Astropath is manning the helm and uses Divining the Future, do Ballistic Skill tests made against his ship take the penalty?

7a) What if he's just standing around the bridge trying to be useful and shouts a warning to the helmsman for the shared effect?

So, I hope "bumps" are tolerated around here…

8)  Where are some good sources for modeling things like Sorcerer and Inquisitor powers?  I'm not good enough with the system yet to just "wing it" with adjucating their psychic powers, but psykers besides Astropaths will surely be showing up in my stories.  I picture Sorcerers with elemental magics, preferring fire, or maybe commanding darkness itself, but I haven't a clue how to do it mechanically.

1. No ballistic skill never matters for flamer weapons in this game. This makes flamers bad to specialize in, as there is only one talent which makes you better with them (clease and purify).

2. It does not use your reaction.

3. You could, it would make flamers better at killing untrained people and worse against people with Dodge+10 or better.

2+3 or something: Yes, you can test dodge.

4. There is no confirmation roll, just roll another D10.

5. Arch militants may buy primitive weapon training cheap at rank 1.

6/7/7a: I'd contact ffg for this, I don't see anything which says you can't but it makes a pretty big difference.

8. I'm not sure what you're looking for here, but the Olny War psychic power rules, and the rules in the free Black Crusade supplement Forbidden Lore.

the forum software and server are really crappy. I usually don't answer posts here anymore cause of what happens with this one… after three time outs I finally got through and could post this.

i noticed someone else beat me to it. But anyway, most stuff you ask you can contact ffg for, what you get here are mainly ruling or opinions of other gms/players.

here my rulings:

- primitive weapon fighting applies to weapons that have the primitive wpn quality. Thus a mono blade is not primitive.

- flamers: i give players the choice: EITHER agility check or dodge. Whith the latter you loose you free action, with the former not BUT with the former its an opposed test vs BS. Thus if a player chooses a ag roll its opposed vs the BS skill of the attacker, no loss of free action. If a dodge is made its not opposed and you loose the free action.

- no RF with flamers

- astropaths: not familiar with thus no rulings.

Thanks everyone ^_^ I wish I'd gotten a little experience with the system before running a game, but no one in my group felt up to running it, so one of us had to bite the bullet :P Thanks a ton for giving me some ideas to work with.
