Well, I picked Envy for the Yig because of nice curse interaction.

Greed for Hastur?  Because he's got yellow connections to gold and the herald?  (And I can't think of a more appropriate one).

Well, I would argue that Hastur has nothing to do with gold ^^. The yellow color comes from the King in Yellow novel by R Chambers. The Yellow color was likely picked because of its relation to the "banner of Decadence in Yellow Nineties" (citation from Robert Price, introduction to the Hastur Cycle). Hastur is a deity of madness, not really greed...

this sorting of mythos deities by christian values sounds odds. Anyway, that is a fun exercise. Good luck with greed :-))

I know Hastur is madness ;') but, honestly, none of the others had anything to do with gold either (as far as I know), so, Hastur wins by virtue of being related to the color of goooooold, plus, greed is a form of insanity ;') (It's a stretch, but hey, it's the best I can do).

Which specific Ancient Ones go best with each Deadly Sin?... maybe Gluttony could be the Herald of Y-Golonac cause he's "corpulent".  Lust would probably be associated with Shub Niggurath cause of the temptresses in her Cult. Maybe Wrath could be Cthugha's Herald cause he's made of fire?

As a believer, lovecraft fan, and (amateur? student?  In-Training?)Anthropologist,  Church Historian and Theologian, I have a couple thoughts...

First off, August Detleth is more-or-less responsible for introducing greater Christian themes and Symbolism into the Lovecraft mythos, though Lovecraft himself had more, well, almost nihlistic approach to life.  His readings are actually somewhat fascinating to me for that reason, he wrote about what scared him, and what seemed to scare him the most was the insignificance and limited scope of mankinds existence (Which as a Christian, actually brings comfort to me) - but that is getting into another topic entirely and I'll spare you all some interesting lectures.  :P

I probably could go on, but ah, the heck with it.

As for the Deadly Sins and Ancient Ones...

We have Wrath, Sloth, Envy, Greed, Lust, Pride and Gluttony.

Sloth is the easiest - Tsathoggua's power is Malaise, which is practically another word for Sloth.  Dude won't even move.

Gluttony is Cthulhu, since his whole goal is to OM NOM NOM all mankind (Campus Crusade for Cthulhu says: Cthulhu Saves... Some for Later!)

Wrath is likely Yig - he is after all, rage.

I think I have to go with Shub-Niggurath being Lust, as her cult is based on fertility cults and she has penchant for making terrible tree-goat babies that are scary as all get-out.

That leave Greed, Pride and Envy, and for Ancient One's those are more difficult.

If Azathoth is the most powerful ancient one, he is likely Pride.  As Pride comes before the fall (or utter destruction of all things) the Blind Idiot God at the Center of the Universe fits nicely there.

I think I would go with Yog-Sothoth for Greed, not due to him himself, but to his Lurker herald, who allows poor fools to gain short-term power in exchange for selling their souls.

Envy is Nyarlathotep, for he takes the forms and masks of others and makes them his - not to mention his unfairly cruel herald holds tightly onto his possessions!

And Hastur is Madness.

I have an idea of the Lust.

Addto the will checks cursing on a failure.

Then every cursed or LITAS  investigator before rolling for curse makes FIGHT(-X) check and will(-Y) check, x is his stamina,y-sanity.If either failed he is LITAS, loses half sanity and stamina, both rounded up. Now I calculate the probability for Amanda Sharpe with 4 Sanity and Stamina.

if she is cursed then she fails first two cases. Then she has11/216 prob to survive the 3rd case.

in Divine Comedy by Dante, "carnal malefactors" have their souls in the Hell  blown back and forth by the terrible winds of a violent storm, without rest. This symbolizes the power of lust to blow one about needlessly and aimlessly.

I implied that Lust sent people in the Hell, where they are punished.

Also (only if Ithaqua is the AO)Each time Lust devours an investigator, Ithaqua gains 1 doom and its Combat rating and fight modifier are improved by -1,  and stamina damage - by 1.

it is because of strong winds in arkham and Hell.

Or make lust kill the tempted in FC and use them for attacking (Fight +1,0,-1, et.c. with X st.loss on failure, X is the number of the killed.

I think the easiest way to go is if you PM the OP asking for the missing file!
