I would love to see more ALIEN alien species. You know, the weird-looking ones, the ones that made Star Wars different from the Star Trek shows where "alien" meant you had a silicone prosthesis glued to your forehead. I want Quarren, and Gotals, and Talz, Bith, Whiphids and the like.

i think a variety is best, and what we are getting is not really a variety.

i think a variety is best, and what we are getting is not really a variety.

So on the one hand, people are saying there are too many "weird, bug-eyed aliens", and on the other hand, there's not enough "variety".

To be honest I really do not see the point in complaining about this. There HAVE been quite a variety of aliens, AND there's been plenty of attractive, humanoid aliens as well.

I'm happy to have species like the Chevin or the Weequay represented in sourcebooks. And sourcebooks are going to continue to come out at a rate of several per year, and they each seem to have three more species in them.

So we're going to get to a LOT of species that we haven't seen yet.

I'm sure they go through a lot of discussion and back-and-forth about which species to include, but for me the bottom line is that there are plenty of cool species to choose from, and there are plenty of cool ones on the way to use in the future.

Again I don't see the point of worrying about it.

I want races that don't pull up fans' deviantart erotica when I Google images for character portraits.

The three species per book could be:

- one cute one,

- one real alien,

- one fitting the / essential to the career

Personally, I'm more for seeing all three in the third (bolded) category.

True, but A LOT of species fit very well with every career/specialization. Just look at the discussions we had pre-release of the different books. And in my defense, I didn't want the first two to be totally random selections. ;)

@ Doc, the Weasel: oh boy, don't check out Maelora's artwork or you'll have to write off 1/3 or Star Wars!

@ Krieger22: Quarren and Gotal are absolute must-haves!!!
