Anyone wishing to take a stab as to the costs/stats of the upcoming fighters?

I am itching to find what the B-Wings can muster....  :D

A lot of pain is my guess. I'm curious to see if they still have 8 HP. That's gonna be a lot to chew through. However they'll prolly be expensive to offset the high cost/damage.

:>¡<: X-wing x6, Y-wing x3, TIE Fighter x6, TIE Advanced x3, A-wing x4, YT-1300 x2, TIE Interceptor x9,
Firespray-31 x3, B-wing x4, HWK-290 x2, TIE Bomber x6, Lambda Shuttle x2, E-wing x3, Z-95 x4, TIE Defender x3, TIE Phantom x2, GR-75 x2, CR-90 x1

Perish quickly you will, if without Push, an A-wing you fly.

I suspect it will have the same HP as an X-Wing. With the escort rule even getting to shoot at the B-Wings is going to be a task.

I am really excited for rebel fighters to come into their own in this game, even more so than they did in X-Wing.  That might sound funny, but I think that in a capital-ship based game, the rebellion's fighters actually showcase one of their main values: anti-capital capabilities.  This will allow them to be the complete package they were meant to be.

So excited for this!

And the TIE Advanced may finally be able to showcase its true potential as well, in a fleet action simulator.

Looking forward to sending squads of B-wings and Y-wings on a bombing run with X-wings flying escort. If FFG does it correctly, which I trust they will, we'll see Rebel squadrons playing a bigger role in anti-ship tactics while the Imps use Tie squadrons primarily as screening force for their Star Destroyers so that they can lay down some serious firepower.

Between Team Coveant and some links in these forums I've noticed a few stats at least in regards to hull. It looks like the Y-Wing has 6 Hull, while I think the B-Wings had 5. The Tie Interceptor had 3 Hull, and the swarm icon with some new icon beside it on its base. And the Tie Advanced has 5 Hull and I think Escort as its ability.

I'm actually dreaming about this very likely strategy and associated tactics. :D

Well if they follow the conventions from X wing I think that Tie interceptors would be very similar to the X wings in their anti squadron attack but maybe keep a single blue for their normal attack. While the Bombers and Y-Wings will maybe have the anti squadron of a tie fighter or maybe lower say like 2 blue dice while maybe having 2 red dice for their ship attacks. I wonder how the B-Wing will be differentiated maybe a mix between the X wings and Y wings for their anti squadron and ship attacks. As for the Interceptor's and A-Wing's new ability maybe something that has it so they can break engagement as they choose?

The best real world example I can give for the B Wing would be an American P38 Lightning in terms of manoueverability and ordanence. This is what I'm hoping for.

Well from Team Covenant's demo video we know that:

- Luke Skywalker's X-wing Squadron is 20 points

- Regular X-wing Squadron is 14 points

- Tie Fighters are 9 points

- Howlrunner is 18 points

- The Neb-B is maybe 52 points

the only thing I would add is that all the Bomber types have the Bomber rule also.

I can't wait to lay down some huge fighter swarms. I'm hoping for FFG to put out some nice carrier ships eventually.

Hard to say. On one hand dedicated fighter carriers are very rare compared to hybrids of battleship and carrier in Star Wars. On the other hand its implied that they have some dedicated carriers planned for the RPG and the Endurance class Fleet Carrier is seen on one of the fighter cards they put out so its not impossible for them to have plans for some dedicated carriers in Armada

Every imperial capital ship is also a carrier - thats because the Tie Fighters (and Tie Bombers, Tie Ints) are missing hyperdrives

I know, the same is true for most Alliance, Old Republic, and minor faction warships, and also most CIS warships according to the Essential guide to warfare.

But most fighter carrying warships are of the Battleship/Carrier hybrid type that I mentioned rather then being dedicated Carriers.

My Guide to Vehicle and Vessels and its new counterpart both list several ships which serve as fleet carriers. Given FFG's propensity for ferreting out useful and cool ships from the EU, I'll be shocked if we don't get some kind of cap ship which fills a carrier role.
