It's a support ship, primarily. It's decent in a dogfight and excels in epic play. It's under appreciated by many players and tends to linger around on the board longer as a result. The Blaster Turrent has many who question it's effectiveness, but I've used it many times to great results.
Roark is great for boosting one ship to PS12 to guarantee first shot in the combat phase.
Kyle is great for storing and tossing around focus tokens when using the Moldy Crow title (and he works surprisingly well with Garven)
Jan is fantastic for being able to boost one shot per round with that extra attack die - can be deadly when used on someone else attacking with primary guns at Range 1, or with a base 4-die secondary attack weapon
I'm quite fond of using them, and own two, and I find that they've often helped turn the tide of a battle for me. But it's a ship that has a bit of a learning curve to use it correctly and effectively.
