Is it just me or do people never unfurl the wings from the shuttle all the way? It's the only thing I've had a complaint about in this game.

The problem is that the wings are so much wider than the base, and at just the right level to clip the pegs of every ship around you.

At least, it's a problem for some people. Personally, I fly my Lambda around making whooshing noises and cackling as my enemies fall before me as wheat before a scythe.

@OP: great work. Would you consider a bit of a tutorial for the modeling-ignorant among us?

I saw one guy in a tournament put his on three pegs so it wouldn't clip people. Personally I just lift one wing up to let ships by and put it down again when they pass.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Some of the shuttles you can't put them down all the way unless you want to crack the plastic. Mine goes down almost all the way, but only if I force it.

Mine are glued in the down flight position. Never had any issues.

I use the huge ship pegs/base for my Lambda and Firespray.  Works great.

I fly mine with double pegs and the wings down, except when passing ships.  Then one wing is moved for dramatic effect.  :-)

It bothers the heck outta me, too.

As for it being too wide, I put it on epid bases a lot of the time. Same size, but it stands much higher and I don't have to worry about the stability of it being on 3 pegs (they seem to get kinda weak after two, I've had them start cracking at that height)

Plus, mine are superglued into pairs because of cracks. So three is no longer an option

The earlier runs seemed to have had a problem with the wings being really hard to move and people were super worried about breaking them

Not North, South, East, or West: 7 Ties, 1 Advanced, 1 Interceptor (and 2 aces packs), 1 Lambda (totally gonna buy 3 more), 1 Firespray, 1 Defender, 1 Phantom, 2 Bombers

I found a drop of a silicon lubricant goes a long way to help the wings out.. I have 3 and they all swing very nicely.

I hit each of the 4 'hinge' areas.. just a little works fine..

Yeah, mine only go down so far due to the way it was molded. . Between that and the disruption during a furball, I just leave my wings up most games.

Nice work! I was considering levering off the bottom of mine too,  but it's being stubborn, so I'm on the fence about risking it. Are you using a coin cell and 3V lights? Did you manage to fit everything inside, or are you putting the guts in the base and just embedding the lights?

Everything is inside and is 2 LEDs running off a 3V coin cell. Just need to wire up the switching circuit, which I am pleased with (I will post once I am finished).
