I was just wondering if Fantasy Flight would release a BIG Box version- with their best expansions for the game??

I've never seen them do anything like that for other games, so I sincerely doubt they'd do it now. That's not to say it's impossible, I just don't think it's likely. "Big Boxes" like that are more of a Euro thing in my experience.

ffg phased out all the coffin-boxes, they're too unwieldy physically and too expensive (99 bucks for runewars wasn't a price the average gamer drops for a boardgame).

besides, who would it be targeted at? new players do fine with just the base game to start (and it's already "expensive" as it is). previous players already own one or more of the included stuff.

not saying it's impossible just highly unlikely  ;)

thank god ffg isn't one of those sleazy pubs who sell that kind of boxes but put ONE little extra in which screws you over as a collector or even previous customer.

The problem with that is it won't likely be bought by a demographic of Descent 2E customers, which would be those that were keeping up with the releases as they came out.  If I stay current with the releases, what incentive is there for me to essentially buy the game twice?

For those looking to jump in on Descent, the original base game is more than enough to play through a 20+ hour campaign with the materials included.  It's pricey at MSRP for some people, and I can't imagine a Descent "big box" appealing to those people either.

Additionally, you're creating confusion with your SKU's, because you're effectively selling content twice, which could lead to buyers (or those buying gifts for a Descent player) to buy a box they don't need.

If you're asking this question in the hopes that you can get some kind of cheaper all-in-one box to get in on the game, I would suggest just jumping in on the base game and start playing already, as you could be waiting indefinitely for a product to arrive that never will.
