Does anyone have any insight, based on past experience with Fantasy Flight Games release schedules, if and when the Forgotten Souls and/or Game Night 2014 package might be released to the public?

I am preparing to try Nerdook's D6 variant, and otherwise would very much love to introduce a co-op, to my group.

thanks-

I, too wish to know when past game night kits will bw available for purchase. I, tried to have my FLGS get one in but no luck. Going to try again when the next one comes out. Till then going to have to finish painting my figs and working on a 3d game board for them

My guess would be around August sometime, for Forgotten Souls. Failing that, probably Thanksgiving/Christmas.

Keep an eye on the web store as I suspect that's where it will appear first.

I would say Q4, just because of the GenCon

Does FFG have a history of releasing Game Night Kits after GenCon?

Also, are they using the Game Night Kits to both play-test and gauge customer interest?

Based on posts at BGG, I would hazard to say there's definitely a market for co-op version of Descent!

No, this would be the first Game Night Kit they've ever released for D2E, so there's no history to speak of. The only reason we know it will be released to retail at all is because FFG said it would be, "later this year," in their original announcement.

Quite probably. And the response thus far has been overwhelmingly positive, I believe.

I would have to guess the same as Steve-O and others. The FS GNK will probably be fall-winter when it's released as a print on demand, without the extras (dice, play mats, tokens).

My local game store got a copy of FS GNK and I've been able to play it a few times. It's a lot of fun, almost always a different build up of tiles and very hard. Don't think, just because there is no OL player it'll be easy, I've only won once and even then it came down to luck and close calls.

I have not had a chance to play this scenario yet, but I have heard from others that have that it can be very difficult to win.  Kind of makes me wonder how long it will take before someone claims it is broken, over-powered, unbalanced, etc.  :D

But wait, since there won't be an official "other side (no OL)", there will be no body to blame.  Heh.

Deadline to order May 30?!

My FLGS (Guardian Games) had no idea of the existence of the last Game Night Kit, and I doubt has heard of this one. Had I known I would have tried to put together a night there!

You will have to excuse my ignorance about the game, as hearing about the cooperative option has piqued my interest in Descent.  Anyway, my question is can the cooperative rules included with Forgotten Souls be used with other Descent campaigns, such as Labyrinth of Ruin, or are the rules specific to the Forgotten Souls campaign?  Either way, I am excited to get my hands on this.

The principle behind the concepts can, but you'd have to adapt it yourself. Forgotten Souls is a premade campaign in its own right and it wouldn't work very well with other campaigns.

Michael-

I am psyched to get this, too --- and I am psyched enough that I have been playing Nerdook's D6 variant, and considering attempting to create an Overlord AI deck based on it --- perhaps with a few Quest-specific cards? --- myself.

Hi Michael,

Sadly, the rules are specific to the Forgotten Souls only. Since the game is overly dependent on the three decks that come with it: Exploration, Peril and Monster Activation. On top of that, the rule book contains specific room setup when you draw them from the exploration deck.

So, for the time being, you may want to check out Nerdok's variant over at BGG until FFG releases the official "PoD" version of Forgotten Souls for everyone else to enjoy.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback, and thanks Coldmoonrising for the BGG link.  I will check that out.
