I will apologize up front if this has been talked to death in other posts. I will claim newness as my defense. :D

As the topic states, which Imperial ship is going to be equivalent to the Corvette or even the Transport for FFG to be able to put on the tabletop? While I am a child of the OT I am not very familiar with the EU. Thanks for your patience.

The closest is probably the Lancer. It's a long blande ship design with a lot of anti-fighter weaponry.

Not the Lancer, it is way bigger and way too designed to kill fighter.

I would say another corvette Like the Rendili or the Imperial Customs Frigate, I actually like the Customs Frigate best.  (yes it is called a Frigate and not a Corvette, but it seems to be a bit smaller than the CR90 so I think it should do.

In the game X-wing for the PC the Empire used a ton of CR90 looking corvettes.  I am wondering if we might get some cool front side back side combination where you can mix and match the different parts of the ship.

Imperial Customs Corvette is the closest/most comparable ship the Empire has.

The Empires military ships have always dwarfed the rebel ships. It's a big part of the cinematic psychology behind the designs. That means that any epic ships they have should be larger, assuming that they stick to imperial military capitol ship design imagery. Given how well they've stuck to fighter desing psyche, they'll probably do the same for the Epic ships as well. If they're the same size I'll be very dissapointed. That would be like having Ties cost the same as X-wings.

There are a few options, none of which are well known.  The Imperials did use the CR90s, so it's possible it could function as an Imperial Ship.

There is the Imperial Customs Corvette: http://starwars.wiki.../Light_corvette

And the Imperial Customs Frigate: http://starwars.wiki...Customs_Frigate

The aforementioned Lancer: http://starwars.wiki...r-class_frigate

The Vigil-class corvette has the distince Imperial silhoutte: http://starwars.wiki...-class_corvette

And there are a bunch of Clone Wars Era ships that would fit the bill, although my vote is on the Vigil, since it matches so closely to the Star Destroyer Triangle.

This is probably the best of recent threads to see the options for an imperial huge ship without getting bogged down by the star destroyer debate

http://community.fan...ss/?hl=imperial

And if you DO want to look at the star destroyer debate, I think this thread is the one to read

http://community.fan...tar-destroyers/

Only please don't post in it and start the argument again.

Tartan Patrol Cruiser. Literally an Imperial CR-90. EaW used it for the equivalent unit.

None.  The Empire does not bring frigates and transports into battle.  Only the Rebel scum are desperate enough to do that.

My personal hopes are on FFG designing an entirely new imperial corvette size ship, that resembles their big armada brothers.

If everyone and their mother freely gave birth to those flying abominations and cosmic dildos that plague the EU, why FFG cannot add their own grain of salt to it? Are they shackled by the license?

Thus far FFG has done really well bringing this game to life. Obviously the imperial huge ships is a contraversal topic and one that we are all curious about. I have no doubt that FFG will do the game justice and release something that we will all have fun with.

I could see the Vigil-class corvette, would be happy with that. There was another ship that prevents jumping to hyperspace, can't remember what its called though. I could see them adding that in as it could be an objective in scenarios as well.

I see your schwartz is as big as mine. Let's see how you handle it!

I had to look these up...

The Imperial Customs Frigate is only 35 meters long (according to Wookieepedia), which puts it in the "Large Ship" category, with the YT-1300, Firespray-31 and Lambda-class Shuttle.  With 6 crew and 6 gunners (for 6 Heavy Laser Turrets), it is pretty well armed for its size.  The picture, however appears to show 3 dual turrets.  Could either be treated with standard "Large Ship" rules- Attack: 3 HLC turret plus several Crew slots, or...

... Treat in as a small "Huge Ship", with energy generation, energy using weapons plus Crew and Team slots.  Either version (or a "bastard" version) could also include Systems upgrades, as well.

The Corellian CR90 was also used by the Empire.  So, the closest thing to a Rebel CR90 would be an Imperial CR90.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again:

I don't think the Empire will get any huge ships.  At least, not like the rebels just have.  I think the Empire will bring a different type of Epic play into the mix.  Maybe a Trench Run set that comes with laser towers and the like.  I think FFG can do better than "here's the Imperial version of the product we just released.  It plays the same... but different."

The Interdictor Class Star Destroyer. my personal favorite imperial capital ship. i find the thing frigging awesome. i personally hope we get one, but i dont expect one.

As an idea, the Empire had a tonne of ground based goodies that are memorable and iconic vehicles from OT. I would predict that in the future we will see a new game/scenario where there are land based options .. In which the Rebels have no equivalent.

AT-ATs, AT-STs, womp rats, etc come to mind. A few rebel addons could be snowspeeders and T-16s.

So, perhaps (with consideration to scaling of larger ships) they will give the Empire their larger vehicles in a new arena.

I would buy an expansion with a T-16, womprat and 'pessimistic pilot' card.

But in all honesty, I think we will see a new model ('sabre class patrol cruiser' for example) which will look like a star destroyer but be more suitably sized.
