So,

I have custom conversions for each of these ships and the list's pilots and upgrades as shown are not negotiable right now, so please do not advise me to change them.

However, I have 5 pts left to spend and I am weighing either a Gunner for Chewie or an Ion cannon for Dutch.

I am leaning towards a Gunner for Chewie.

What would you choose and why?

Ion Turret, it's a vicious list all 3 with turrets causes problems for so many ships. Personally I hate them cause I tend to fly Squints! but think it's the better option and used more than gunner

First, does Determination work with Chewie? I'm surprised I haven't paid attention to that interaction before. Have I been living under a rock with that one? Theoretically both cards should resolve simultaneously so I guess you should be able to choose which to apply first.

And as far as the question is concerned I would absolutely go ion here. Gunner is great but the synergy you get with the 3 turrets is stronger imo.

Another vote for the turret. You're likely getting Chewie a free target lock from Dutch anyway, so the gunner is overkill. Better balance to the squad as well.

4 Ties, 1 Advanced, 2 Bombers, 3 Squints (inc Aces), 2 Defenders, 1 Phantom, 1 Firespray and a Shuttle.

3Xs, 2Ys 3Bs, 2As (inc Aces), 1E, 2Z95s, 1 HWK, 1 YT1200 and a Transport.

Moldy crow on Roark, to get max out of recon specialist, or you can even swich roark to Kyle, for truly epic focus times

I am getting the feeling that the Ion Cannon Turret is the way to go :-)

I agree with the ion cannon.  Though I would question the R2-D6 + Determination on Dutch.  I would think you'd be better off putting DTF on Chewy instead of determination... I'm in the same boat as everyone else that Determination on Chewy is kinda... I don't know the best word, I feel like skevy might fight decently, but it's not really exactly what I want to say either.  Reading the two, I agree that it does work, but it seems like overkill to me.

Anyways... Back to Dutch, I'd pull those 2 points off of him, and if you could find another point, you could put Moldy Crow title on (likely from chewy) Roark for end game TL+F because he'll likely be the last ship alive.

Determination does work on Chewie.  Determination can look at the Face Up card and then discard it if appropriate.  After that Chewie's ability will turn it Face Down if there is still a card to turn down.  Note that NEITHER will apply if you already have the card and it is flipped face up by Saboteur or the like.

I really don't know why Dutch is in there.  Getting "free" TLs may be nice but he doesn't hit hard enough and isn't nimble enough.  Adding the Ion Turret is almost a must for a Y-Wing and without it I'd say you really should have an X or B in that slot.
