Hi guys! Here two my idea for Slave. The basic is to fly a Slave unique pilot with wingmans.

Krassis (secondary weapon version):

Krassis + HLC + Gunner (48)

Jonus + Draw their fire (Tie bomber 23)

Dark curse (Tie fighter 16)

Obsidian pilot (Tie Fighter (13)

Jonus always fly at range 1 by Krassis giving him 2 dice to re-roll, also he takes the critical hit to protect Krassis. Jonus here plays a sacrifical role. The other Ties are for support, cause Krassis lose his great offensive when attaked from behind, so they cover his shoulders. As you can see the HLC with 3 dice re-roll are devastating and Gunner is a must.

Kath (primary weapon version):

Kath + Ion cannon + Gunner + Markmanship (49)

Howlrunner + Draw their fire + Hull upgrade (Tie fighter 22)

Dark curse (Tie fighter 16)

Obsidian pilot (Tie Fighter (13)

Howl always fly at range 1 by Kath giving hem 1 dice to re-roll, also she takes the critical hit to protect Kath. Howl here plays a sacrifical role. The other Ties are for support, but here Kath doesn’t suffer attak from behind. This version is similar to previous but it works with primary weapon and doesn’t suffer about behind attaks. More potential come from Ion Cannon: after a ship is stressed by Kath ability, the Ion keep it unable to take actions.

P.S.: I’ve put Dark curse cause his ability is strong.

Rebels: 3 Xwing, 1 Awing.

Imperials: 3 Tie Fighter, 1 Tie Advanced, 3 Tie Inteceptor, 1 Slave, 2 Tie Bomber, 1 Shuttle Lambda.

With 3 rerolls on Krassis I feel that the 5 points for Gunner are better spent elsewhere. :)

I would even argue that adding Jonus is going too far. When you already have one reroll out of four dice and possibly a focus token to spend I think the 23 points on Jonus is easily wasted. It also requires formation flying between a Firespray and a bomber - while I haven't tried that I fear it's going to limit your options and often result in bumps.

@Keffisch. Gunner is also used for behind attaks. Behind he doesn't take adavantage of re-rolling.

@Scurvy: No matter abount flying Jonus in formation, just keep him at range 1 from Krassis. Never mind if Jonus overlap Krassis and doesn't make action. He just here as a wingman.

I run something similar, Krassis, Jonus and Maarek.

First turn Krassis strips all or most shields off something chunky. Maarek locks on to that target.
Second turn. Maarek marksmanship and cluster missiles (along with 2 re-rolls on each attack) brings the pain.

Ok winterdyne, net time i will try your build, seems interesting...

I replaced Gunner on Krassis with Recon Specialist. So they are 2 point left for a better Tie, maybe Night Beast

I've run Krassis with HLC, RecSpec and APL, Jonus with Determination (6 hull and no shields means good chances for crits) and Howlrunner with Swarm and whatever bombs/mods/torps/missiles I'm in the mood for.

The three of them stick in a mini swarm and generally chew up whatever shows up in front of them. Or possible behind.

Core: 3 sets

Rebel: 1 X, 3 Y, 3 A, 2 B, 2 H, 2 YT-1300, 2 E, 4 Z, 1 CR-90, 1 GR-75, 2 Reb Aces

Imperial: 2 T, 3 T/Ad, 4 T/Int, 2 T/Bmb, 2 T/Df, 2T/Ph, 2 Shuttle, 2 Firespray, 2 Imp Aces

Order: 1 YT-2400, 1 VT-49

@Keffisch. Gunner is also used for behind attaks. Behind he doesn't take adavantage of re-rolling.

That strikes me as being a bit inefficient with your points, but I can see it working.

Personally, I like your second list better, but the ion cannon on Kath defeats effectiveness of her ability.  I'd drop it and do something like:

Kath w/ Gunner & Marksmanship

Howlrunner w/ swarm tactics

Backstabber

Alpha Interceptor

Howlie swarms the alpha so they both shoot before Kath to hopefully strip shields.  Backstabber flanks for extra punch and howlie's re-roll benefits both the interceptor and Kath.  In fact, if you find Kath hitting without needing gunner much, you could consider trading it for rebel captive and a seismic mine, but gunner with marksman does prove invaluable vs. 4+ green dice...

I'm itching to find a dual-firespray build that'll do the trick! I tried running this:

Kath Scarlett with Gunner and Egg-spurt handling.

K-Trel with Heavy Laser Cannnon.

Academy pilot.

Boy did I get trashed! But I made a ton of mistakes. Didn't realise how far FS's move and kept misaligning Krassis, forgot about Kath's ability, that kind of nonsense. Hell, I even miscalculated the points, coulda had an extra 3 points of tasty goodness thrown around (Can't help but think a bomb of some kind would be a good bet)

Still, can't wait to gget some practice in and get used to flying these things, I feel they're one of the most fun things you can bring to the table!

The Slave/Firespray is a nice ship but having two of them leaves very little for added support.

This is why I opted for a Firespray+Shuttle combo with Backstabber and an academy pilot as backups.

The shuttle is so far equipped with a gunner and either advanced sensors or engine upgrade.

Firepsray I am still looking for the 'optimum'. (fitting my style of play and local meta)

Note that the Firespray works fine. Just looking for better. :)

I did think the shuffle may make a better hlc platform. It's study, it can stands still and it's cheaper. Can't help but think that the rear firing arc and actually pretty good manoeuvrability makes the firespray a naturally effective dog-fighter. Maybe I'll drop K-to-the-tre, chuck a shuttle (maybe two? ) in there instead.
